If it was the weather then no compensation. Were you put up for the night in a hotel and did you have meals paid for. Put you details into bottonline and then euclaim see what they say about the delay0
-
Thanks for the reply. Yes the airline organised a hotel overnight on the Algarve and meals so did what they needed to do by law.
I did put the details into a website but it said I wasn't delayed more than 3 hours - I guess it just looks at take off time which was only 20 minutes late, rather than delayed arrival which was nearly 24 hours.0 -
Do you know if there was bad weather in Funchal?0

Madeira airport has a wind speed limit. The wind was gusting in and out that day. I believe some flights landed but many didn't so yes weather was given as the reason.0

I was due to fly with Iberia from Madrid to Mex and the flight was delayed by over 6 hours. After claiming from Iberia and not receiving a response I decided to take them to court.
As Iberia has an office in the UK can I take them to court in the UK to claim for compensation under EU 261/2004?0 -
Hi all,
I was on a LATAM flight which left Lima on friday night (6.45pm) for Madrid and was diverted back to Lima after 6 hours. We were put on another flight to Madrid which landed around 8pm in the evening on Saturday. I had been booked on an Iberia flight leaving at 3.50pm so had missed my connection.
The ground staff said there was no space on flights leaving for London that evening so I was put on one at 7am the following day.
I have checked and there is usually a 9pm BA flight but it appears it may have been cancelled on Saturday, probably cancelled in advance as theres no informaton about it being cancelled online but usually there is a 9pm flight (BA 0465). There were also Ryanair flights but maybe BA/Iberia don't have an agreement with them.
I'm assuming I cannot claim against LATAM as it is not an EU airline, but can I claim against BA/Iberia?
Many thanks for the advice!0 -

Correct! No claim here.
None EU airline flying from a none EU country = no claim.
EU airline flying out of a none EU country = valid claim. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -

Can anyone advise ref this? I have escalated our case (a week ago) but still havent heard anything.
Below is brief description of what happened -
We booked flights to see our daughter in Ibiza. As there were no direct flights from Gatwick we planned to fly to Barcelona on the 20th Feb 19 with just over a 2hr wait before we flew to Ibiza, arriving 21.15pm that day.
When we got to Gatwick at 13.30pm, we found our boarding passes did not work. The flight had been changed to 19.35pm. A considerable wait at the airport. We were not told of this even though I had 'ticked' for any notifications if this happened. Not only that but our connecting flight was now 9.25am the NEXT morning.!
I had a very irate conversation with Vuelling customer services who agreed that this was really poor treatment & assured me that not only would we be able to get vouchers for food when we arrived in Barcelona because now of our overnight stay we would also be found a hotel. All we had to do was to go to Vuelling customer services desk. Upon arriving in Barcelona, we found this to be shut! We ended up having to pay a total of 55 euros for taxis there and back to the hotel (that we found ourselves) plus 55 euros for the night to stay at said hotel. We also had to pay for food on the night of the flight and for breakfast the morning after. We have receipts for all of these expenses. Also we had paid for seats in row 15 on our connecting flight to Ibiza. My husband is a very nervous flyer and hates being at the back of the plane. Our seats were now in row 31. The last row of the plane. The experience not only upset and stressed up but we were both exhausted at spending nearly 24 hrs getting to Ibiza. I should also mention that at no point was there any apology or attempt to help us being stranded in Barcelona.0 -

.
Hi,
It looks like you are due €400 EU261 compensation each and a full refund of your costs.
Make sure you specify a claim for EU261 compensation and use receipts to prove your costs.
You should be able to claim directly via their website.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
