Additionally, promoting a premium rate 0844 number without stating the call costs alongside the number is a breach of Ofcom regulations.
It seems that all parts of the Virgin empire, trains, planes, phones and others are breaching these regulations in various ways.0 -
Hi,
quick question
My girlfriend missed her connecting flight after the plane arrived 55 minutes late,This left her 15 minutes to leave the plane and go through security through the connecting flight tunnel, the queues were super long and there weren't any staff around. There wasn't an express queue either so the only thing she could do was wait. She finally got through but the flight left without her. They've rebooked another flight for her but that involves another connecting flight through another country meaning when she arrives it will be well over 3 hours!
Is she able to claim any compensation as the delay was the airlines fault?, the airline staff said the reason why the flight left late was because they didn't have enough staff

Hi here are the facts.
Flight flying from Birmingham UK (EU) to Vilnius Lithuiana (EU), connecting flight in Brussels Airport.
-Flight landed late in Birmingham UK (EU) because of staffing problems.
- Flew from Birmingham UK (EU) with Brussels Airlines. Plane landed 20 minutes late .Doors opened 35 minutes late after it landed in Brussels. Had to wait for a gate.
- This left 15 minutes for connecting flight, flight was missed because of security.
- Scheduled new flight, however this is another connecting flight.
- This departs from Brussels at 7pm local time, to Warsaw. Then connecting flight to Vilnius. Arriving around midnight. Her original flight was meant to land at 4:35pm Brussels time. 5:35pm local time0 -
Hi there everyone,
was looking for some advice, we were delayed 19 hours in Tenerife with Jet2 this week due to a Jet2 plane landing and the wheels exploding on the runway at Tenerife South Airport. (If you dare google it there are pictures of the plane!). In the letter they gave us at the airport it says the delay was 'due to unforseen operational reasons'. Many other planes managed to take off but we got delayed 19 hours and had to sleep on the floor until 1:30am until we were given a hotel.
As the plane that caused the issue with the runway was a Jet2 one and we were flying with Jet2, would we be eligible to claim under EU rule 261/2004 or would this likely be classed as an exceptional circumstance?
Just wondering what to do now! My travel insurance company were quite rude and said I can't claim with them as its not in their list of acceptable reasons.

What time were you due to depart? There was plenty of inbound flights diverted to other islands and the majority of outbound were delayed or cancelled from about 2pm onwards. Aircraft can only take off when they are given clearance to do so. There was plenty of diverted people stuck in Lanzarote airport.0

Now on the Jet2 thread. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
We were delayed on a flight (by over three hours) from Copenhagen to Heathrow then our connecting flight from Heathrow to Manchester was cancelled. Both with BA under one booking. Are we entitled to compensation for both failures i.e. delay and cancellation or only one claim. BA are suggesting the latter.
Any help gratefully received.
Thank you

Hi last year I went through resolver from the martin Lewis site to claim for flight compensation. In November I was told that the case was closed an the airline were not getting back. I went to a no win no fee company to try the case. This was 8 months ago and I am wanting to cancel them because last month the airline agreed to pay 400 euros to my wife and I. If I cancel the no win no fee they say they will charge me for there time . Can they do this as they don't seem to be doing anything and I am constantly contacting them. Not sure if I take the comp from the airline ( through resolver even though they said it was closed )if I will have to pay it out to the no win no fee company please help0

This depends on the terms of your contract with the NWNF company but usually once you sign up you are liable to pay their fees whether or not the airline pays you direct. It is possible that the airline has only agreed to pay because of the work done by the company even though they have contacted you direct.0
