Hi Caz, thanks for the response.

I've managed to find another site which appears to show the flight:

    https://www.airportia.com/flights/ba208/miami/london/2017-06-02/

That shows only a 2 hour 13 minute delay however which is under the threshold.
  • I don't know what time it actually arrived, but it was scheduled to arrive at 10.20 so if you were asking for compensation reasons it wouldn't be eligible even if it did arrive at 13.00. Bott and Co also say it arrived less than 3 hours late.
  • I have misplaced the details of when the flight from Zurich to Edinburgh actually boarded and when it arrived at Edinburgh, does anyone have those details? 24/08/2013 BM1608 scheduled departure 15:45

Many thanks if I can get assistance :)

    John

EuClaim say you are not due any compensation. Put your details into Bottonline and see what they say.

We had a flight delayed by over 4 hours when flying with a Spanish airline Volotea from Southampton to Palma, Mallorca. We have won the court case and have a high court writ against them but unfortunately the airline does not have a base here, only in Spain, therefore the sheriffs are unable to execute this writ. Can anyone help us get the money we are owed?

    MrsBiz,

Impounding an aircraft usually brigs pretty quick results.

I don't think they operate into many airports in this country but maybe it's a regular flight into Southampton. If so you could supply a timetable to the HC Sheriffs.

    Good luck.

  • We booked Edinburgh to Cork in October 2016. Flight cancelled due to fog. We were offered either a flight Next day or 10 hours later to Dublin and coach to Cork. We arrived in Cork 13 hours late. Airline say we can't claim compensation as delay was due to weather?
    Is this correct?
We've never seen you mention that can't claim due to weather?

    Hi Jacqueline,

Yes weather 'can' exempt the airline from paying EC261 compensation but they do still owe you a 'duty of care', food drinks etc.

Read Vaubans guide, google and download, for details.

Where was the fog? as it sounds like you did not depart in the first place. If you can give the date and flight details we may be able to look into it.

    Good luck.

  • Hi.

We flew from Madrid to London and had a connecting flight from London to Aberdeen on the 14th of June. Our first flight was delayed due to technical fault which made us miss our connecting flight and we arrived in our final destination (Aberdeen) 3h 20 min late so I think we have a claim. What I am confused about is the amount we can claim e.g. the distance we travelled.
    Distance from Madrid-London about 1260km ( under 1500km 250euros per person)
Distance from Madrid- Aberdeen (final destination) about 1900km ( between 1500-3500km 400 euros per person)
Does anyone know if it's the distance of the delayed flight travelled or the distance to your final destination you can claim? Many thanks in advance.

2.2 The amount of compensation due depends upon the length of the journey, as measured by the “Great Circle Method” [see http://www.greatcirclemapper.net]:

in your case your journey was MAD-ABZ so €400
