A friend phoned AXA to query that her renewal was from AXA after receiving a letter advising of the change, he was told that the changeover would be effective from 1 September.

Well that's me screwed then - guess when the cats both renew ...... 9th September:mad:

Maisie's isn't until November so no chance with her

Might just bite the bullet & switch them to Co-op now ....

ETA - just redid quote and approx £10 / month MORE for both cats (not incl dog) & for less cover *sigh*

Might have to go with the Accident / Injury route .....

Someone I know on another forum runs a pet insurance comparison website - based on price, cover & customer satisfaction (eg if they payout etc) & he actually doesn't have more than even on there .... so not someone is go to, thanks

Probably because he doesn't earn commission from them :)

More Than are actually owned by RSA - one of the major insurance companies, and RSA also underwrite policies for many of the high street names who offer pet insurance so definitely no reason to exclude them.

I actually moved from JL insurance (who were underwritten by Axa when I took out the policy) when they changed to RSA

I personally would rather not be on a policy underwritten by them!

  • Just to update, I have had my renewal through this morning, it is still with AXA and has risen from £18 per month to £20 per month. I am relieved, for another year anyway. My dog is 8 years old and no pre-existing conditions, never had to visit vet for anything other than yearly boosters and recently pet passport.

I did consider moving her recently due to no pre-existing but think I will see how things go.

    xxx

Yes, the same someone who leaves Animal Friends on his website despite the fact that they have just increased a customer's premium by 350% to over £400 per month (no, you didn't read that wrong).

The same someone who still claims that he lists only ethical companies despite the above.

I'll discard his views thank you very much.

By the way, if you look at the actual customer reviews, More Than score higher than 70% of the companies on his comparison website, so take that comparison website with a huge pinch of salt.

It actually wasn't as much as that - it was just under 250% ....... Whilst I have every sympathy with that person (and do in fact know them), TBH I'm actually not surprised at all

If the maximum amount (with more on top of that being paid for by the owner) is claimed year on year with multiple operations / other conditions being claimed for, then of course the premiums will rise - and by huge amounts ...

The other alternative for them would've been to cancel the policy (which they are also entitled to do) ... which would you have preferred?

It still doesn't change the fact More Than are underwritten by RSA who I personally wouldn't chose to have as underwriter from past experiences with them

  • Trying to get a quote for my 6 year old Cockapoo. Have not claimed from AXA but just had renewal and policy going up from £27 to over £32 per month. This seems extremely expensive.
Anyone know who else it is best to try for quotes?
