No matter how well I hide things, my lot ALWAYS find them, drives me mad.

I need a cupboard with a padlock on it

OH doesn't use the microwave so I often hide stuff in there, or in the cupboard behind some packs of those home bake rolls, he doesn't get stuff out of the freezer either so often "hide" stuff in the freezer.

This weekend though it was my baking cupboard - he usually only goes in there to get raisins and that wasn't what he was looking for so he didn't try there ;)

Next will be the inside a saucepan in the cupboard as he doesn't use those either :rotfl:
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • I stayed up until half past one last night reading all this thread!! Have just finished making some and OMG are they good!!! Twink what a FAB recipe. Unfortunately, in my haste, I forgot to add the bicarb but they seem ok and taste DIVINE!! Can't wait to make some more - made 46 and there are about 30 left at the moment!

Again a huge thanks to Twink.

glad you like the hobnobs Butterfingers, i have forgotten the bicarb too but suppose it has a purpose, 46 is about the amount i get
  • I've lost my box of bicarb of soda. and am in the middle of making Twink's fabulous hobknobs. I know, I know, I should have got all the ingredients out, but I do have it somewhere, but cannot find it and have hunted everywhere. That's the problem with starting to use it for cleaning!
Will it matter if I leave this out, or is there something else I can substitute. I've melted the butter/syrup/water, and mixed all the dry ingredients, and don't know what to do next. I can't go to the shop and leave the kids alone: what should I do? Please advise.
And Squeaky, I followed your instructions to the letter, re finding previous posts (very very helpful, thankyou), but haven't found anything to help with this question.
Rushes back to kitchen, to continue hunting, but hoping somebody has an answer. I have got baking powder...?

I made these for the first time and i didn't even put any in then and we thought they tasted great! just out of interest what does the Bi Carb add to the recipe? (flavour, even cooking?) Either way they taste lovely without! :)

not sure what it does, maybe makes a lighter biscuit
  • Fab - thanks so much - will go ahead and make the batch.

Twink, I know you've been thanked many times, but these are truly fantastic and I'd like to add my thanks. Incidentally, is it okay to freeze half the mix, and make a 2nd half up fresh in a couple of days time? Should I still make the mix into balls before freezing, if so?
