  • I made a batch of twink's hobnobs only for my OH to inform me he does like oats unless they are in porridge!!

So I have eaten them with a little help from DD who came round last sunday for about 5 mins, saw her yesterday and she asked if I had any left....lol yeah right.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: they are absolutely divine.

    Thanks twink :D

  • OMG made these on Saturday for visitors and I have never seen anything disappear so fast off a plate (and that was just me lol)

They tickled something in my memory about biscuits very like these but with peanuts in and slightly saltier. Has anyone tried adding peanuts? Would be interested to hear about the results. Would search myself but the search function still seems to be playing up...

ooh i am trying to type the name ampersand but i just cant make my hand do it :D

belfastgirl i dont think anyone has thought of peanuts but am sure it would work, wonder if you could add some peanut butter to the mix, maybe have to reduce the butter a bit, someone more clever than me might know
  • oooh this is a bad chat to be having before lunchtime :)

My memory of these biscuits is that they had whole (or maybe half) peanuts in them but you're probably right about the peanut butter as well for the saltiness.

I might just give it a try and report back...tho I am worried in case they are nice :)

havent done that but have thought of it, suppose if you made it the same thickness as the biscuits the time would be the same but if thicker maybe a bit longer, trial and error i think, suppose you could add some sunflower seeds etc, wasnt to keen on the dried apricot in them but sultanas might work and cherries, let us know how you get on
they turned into some sort of gooey cakey mixture:eek: :rotfl: i did guess weights etc hough cos my scales broke:rotfl: bought new scales but theres only gras, how do i convert grams to ounces?
