  • Made these for the first time at the weekend and they turned out great, I used slightly salted butter in them, but will try them with margerine next time I think, did I read right that the hard margerine works better?

I have never succesfully made biscuits (have tried a couple of times but they have come out rank) so I am over the moon at how easy these were....

    Thanks Twink

made a batch of these today for the first time (got near 30 from the ingredients listed) and they came out perfect.

The recipe was so easy i tried it again with muesli (instead of just oats) and although the mixture was a little moist the first batch (i added a little more golden syrup to help counterbalance the dryness of the fruit in the muesli) they came out perfect and extremely tasty. As the recipe had had time to sit for the next batch it was easier to make the balls.

All in all a fab recipe thats easy to make, gives outstanding results and can be adapted at will. Thanks twink :)

  • I made these last week for the lads that I work with they didnt last long enough to even think about going hard :rotfl: . Everyone had lots and they soon went, thanks twinx for the recipe its deffinately a huge success at my work and the few I left at home for my oh and my 2 d/s's. I melted chocolate onto the top of them and they were devine.

Mine made yesterday have gone the same. I have kept them in an airtight tin too.

Made some more today and have rolled them out then cut them, so hopefully when they go crunchy they are more like the original hob nobs

destiny and arkonite_babe the only thing i can think of is that they might have been in the oven a tad too long, its difficult to give exact timing as everyones ovens are different, you have to only just melt the butter too, it seems to get absorbed to quickly if too hot and gives a drier mix

danz yes the biscuits are very adaptable as can be seen on the thread, glad you and everyone likes them
  • thanks for the advice twink, will bear that in mind next batch I make, which judging by this last lot will be before the weekend ;)
