ooh i am trying to type the name ampersand but i just cant make my hand do it
belfastgirl i dont think anyone has thought of peanuts but am sure it would work, wonder if you could add some peanut butter to the mix, maybe have to reduce the butter a bit, someone more clever than me might know
Just to report back on this.
First of all a confession. By the time I got around to trying the instructions had in my mind become 'omit butter and use peanut butter instead'. Anyhow if anyone wants to know, peanut butter does NOT meltso I ended up adding a good bit more hot water to get everything to hold together. Actually tasted surprisingly okay but I think I missed the saltiness of the butter. And I think for the biscuits I remember I would also add in some half peanuts as well.
I will give them another try but not till I have someone else in the house to eat some of themThanks for the advice, I think your version of it (rather than my remembered version) was probably spot on.

Well I finally gave in to the pressure and made Twink's hobnobs.... they were demolished very quickly indeed
Mixed some raisins into a few of them to try - they were even nicer than the others
When stepson1 thought his dad was getting biscuits and he wasn't he declared - I love those!
One tip - SS2 insisted on dunking them and they made a soggy mess in the cupworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

The whole mix with raisins added makes very good flapjacks, I added an extra spoonful of honey to keep them moist, then pressed into a swiss roll tin, baked for 20 minutes at 170oc then scored up into fingers while warm.
Made at 7pm last night and there's none left this morning :mad:0 -

I split the biscuits up and hid two separate small tubs of them - then when OH found one tub he thought that was all of it and stopped lookingworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
