Mum coming for tea today - Twink's hobnobs go to greatest test of all with a very fussy vegan. (Used vegan marg). Twink, if you pass, I'll send you a medal.

Perfect - used that Pure - no difference whatsoever.

Also made apple pie, mince pies (v. mincement) and apple and mincemeat pie (well, can't waste leftovers can we).

Just saw that 'Aussie' reference twink - so straight for my good old NEW ZEALAND Edmonds Book go I, and the famous ANZACS Recipe:
    125gms flour
    150gms sugar
    125gms coconut
    125-150gms rolled oats/porridge oats
    50gms butter
    1tbsp golden syrup
    1/2 tsp Bicarb.
    2 tbsps boiling water
Mix together flour, sugar, coconut, oats. Melt butter and golden syrup. Dissolve Bicarb. in boiling water, adding to melted butter and syrup mix.
Make a well in the flour, stir in the liquid. Place in spoonfuls on cold greased trays.
    Bake 15-20 mins at 180C/350F/Gas 4.

Happy Mothers' Day to all and Bon Appetit.

Will do Anzac another day when I have found the coconut. However, I have found some ground almonds which will be chucked in something soon.

Thinking - hobnobs + ground almonds with flaked almonds on top???

Edit: just realised the similarities in recipes. You'll just have to fight it out.

Another edit: am thinking about medal.
