nice discussion about what other peoples choices and things that have nothing to do with you?
im quite entitled to say its a stupid pointless thread if i want too.
why not start a thread then asking how many people have split up with someone who was the same age as them?:D:footie:0 -
We get the message you think it's a stupid thread.
The thread title/original post says nothing about people splitting up, anyhoo! It's just idle curiosity. Nowt wrong with that.
If it gets your goat
..go find another thread that doesn't.0 -

Yes, some of the responses have been unnecessary, but there has been at least one person who has said that if they had their time again that they wouldn't have such a large age difference, so this could help someone who is going through something similar.0 -
Apart from one poster (!) I don't remember any of the responses being nasty or malicious. It's just people sharing their experiences, good and bad.
If the subject rubs you up the wrong way/pushes your buttons for whatever reason that's your issue, it doesn't mean no-one else has a right to contribute, or that it's a (cue Kevin the teenager voice) "stupid thread"
I think some people have got out of bed the wrong side, quite frankly.0 -
would you start a thread on couples with different colour skin going out together no you wouldnt so whats the difference.;)
The thread by its existence suggests there is something wrong with age gap relationships. There is not again i say ask how many people are divorced etc who married someone their age????:footie:0 -
I haven't read the whole thread, but I found out through doing a bit of researching on my family tree that my nanny was quite a bit younger than my grandad, who I never knew as he'd passed on before I was born
Perhaps it was more common years ago for a girl to be married to a much older man? She was widowed in her 40s, I think he might have been in his 60s.

This seems a strange comparison, people age and change, their skin colour doesn't.0 -

This post ^^ by its existence suggests someone might be clutching at straws a bit :rotfl:
Bizarre reference to race relations, too :huh:0 -
My OH was 9 years older than me. The only problem was that he turned into a miserable old git 9 years before I turned into a miserable old trout.
This has given me a well earned end of week chuckle as this is the age gap between me and mine. He is the grumpy old git and he would say I'm the trout :rotfl:0 -
Just thought I'd dig up my thread and give y'all an update
Well, what can I say.. to be blunt, they looked more like father and daughter than husband and wife, but if they're happy it's their business I guess. The groom's daughter from his previous marriage (which ended suspiciously recently..) is three years older than his new wife
One of the bride's parents was so nonplussed they didn't even turn up to the wedding, which we thought was a bit off, but I suppose I could see their point of view.. :undecided
Anyways, I genuinely hope the couple are happy. He seems like an 'old uncle' even to me (and I'm quite a bit older than the bride :rotfl:)0
