There is a new twist to the recorded v special delivery debate.
e2save say in their new ts + cs that even if you have used recorded delivery, should the item get lost in the post (and they don't sign for its receipt), then they count it as a missed claim.
Miss a claim and all future claims are also forfeit.
Recorded delivery would not be any help in that situation. You can only insure for consequential loss if you use special delivery.0 -

You don't want people to have a painfree relationship with TMO....?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
If they could I would be first in the queue... but so far I haven't lost a cashback and or had to fight for one despite getting about 20 contracts. I'm not sure The Mobile Outlet is worth the hassle or risk. Whilst there's not much left now where that doesn't apply to some degree The Mobile Outlet seeks to gain the prize for a higher degree (though it does have a LOT of competition nowadays!).0

Have you not learnt that recorded delivery is not sufficient if the claim is lost or spirited away.;)
On the contrary - the fact that you can prove receipt by TMO is more than sufficient to prove your case in the small claims court - I would rather take that course than fight with Royal Mail over 'consequential loss'. Have you ever tried it !!!0 -
I've always sent by recorded delivery.
If you have a company arguing that things sent in envelopes were missing, what is to stop an unscrupulous company from saying the Special Delivery envelope was missing bits too?
I believe (No proof) that some cashback companies choose a certain amount of claims that they decide will fail for one reason or another.
My belief (Again no proof) is that the first ones to fall at the 1st hurdle will be the ones sent by 1st or 2nd class post, at the 2nd hurdle claims sent Recorded delivery (which I doubt get signed for, so no proof they've received it;) ) will be next, and lastly the ones that are sent by Special delivery.
Special delivery indicates that a certain amount of care is being used.
This could be the factor that sways the balance in your favour if it reaches a court.
There is nothing to stop an unscrupulous company from saying that paperwork was not included in an envelope, I believe that they would use the above method of selection of people to try it on with.
Failing that, an e-mailed picture/video of your claim going in the envelope will then be the next stage of safety.
I received £30 through quidco for taking out the contract. I use this to go towards the £6.10 for each claim.
I got a £360 contract, and a £150 phone for the total outlay of 50p.
I have accepted that with this comes a certain amount of Tomfoolery. :AWell life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

Sorry, I was writing and didn't see your post before I submitted my last post, hopefully you will see from my last post why Recorded delivery isn't sufficient.
I was a postman for 5 years some years ago. I have to admit that I never bothered to get signatures for Recorded delivery items especially when it was a company on my round that received loads of them everyday. I simply put them in the postbox with the normal mail, I wasn't about to stand around for 5 mins getting signatures.
If anyone can confirm that The Mobile Outlet signs for their recorded delivery letters I will happily stand corrected.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
I am glad you are not a postman anymore if that 's what you think or people like me know send things record delivery. Did we not deserve to get the service we paid for but didn't get because you were too lazy :mad:foreignshopper wrote: »

I too am glad that i'm not a postman, those early mornings were hell.
If you pay peanuts(Recorded delivery) you get monkeys.
Too clear up an earlier comment, When I said that The Mobile Outlet are looking half decent, I was actually saying that the other companies are slowly sinking to their level, not that The Mobile Outlet have raised their standards(Although there are seemingly less complaints now:question:).
Also, welcome back Shelby :wave:Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

TMO (unlike Mobileshop, for one) do sign for their post.
As for your confession.... (as for monkeys, well your words...)
In other news, we've got some money from TMO today by BACS without any chasing at all, this is for the bill dated 24th May. :TToyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -

I am happy to stand corrected that The Mobile Outlet sign for all their Recorded delivery letters. :A
My confession is to point to everyone that what is supposed to happen, often doesn't.
Postmen/women have days off, annual leave and can change walks(Rounds), As long as people are aware that The Mobile Outlets regular postman/woman may be replaced by a scoundrel like I was.
It goes without saying that i've since seen the errors of my ways.
Well done for receiving your cashback without having to prompt them.
Looking at my calendar, it seems you failed to mention that they have not met the terms and conditions of cashback payments and have paid you late?Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
