If you want to amend a MCOL then you can do this free as long as the claim has not been issued. You need to contact the court by phone before 10.00 am the day after you submitted the MCOL - or on the day you submitted it if you did so before 10.00 am.

Otherwise it costs £35 to change a MCOL, (using form N244).

It is cheaper (and just as quick) to just start again and reissue the claim.

I think you are correct regarding the address to send the claim to.
Its the company name thats important.
I sent it to the registered address of Mobile Matters (UK) Ltd, as there is a redirect on the Riverdale House, Shipley address and I didn't want to introduce any further delays
Hi did some checking and my spec delivery letter before action was re-directed and signed for by a Z Iqbal on 30 Jan 08. Royal Mail won't tell me the re-direction address, but as your forum gives another address of:
MOBILE MATTERS (UK) LTD Trading as The Mobile Outlet
    UNIT 6 BANTAMS BUSINESS PARK
    VALLEY PARADE
    BRADFORD
    WEST YORKSHIRE BD8 7DY
Company No. 04787711- I am guessing this is where its re-directed too. Luckily my LBA letter was addressed this way to the company, but using the Shipley address. To date I still haven't had a response, and unlike some I have had all my cashback claims accepted in writing by them for both my phones, I was paid cashback 1 and 2 for both phones, but I am still waiting for cashback 3,4,5 for both phones (£441)so it will be interesting to see what they do. :o
  • I have just requested judgement by default and will have to wait and see if that goes through. 1st claim of £84 plus other costs Bill replacement) £122 total + MCOL + Warrant/Bailliff. If I have to do this for each stage it will cost TMO almost double!!!

Received a letter from Bradford Court saying they haver a cheque for me for the whole amount including total remaining contract, court fees and warrant fee. Once warrant was applied for it took them less than a week to get the cheque. Have to wait for cheque to clear but Court bailiffs said that cheques are not bouncing yet........:j

Where did the Bailiffs visit, was it valley parade?

Bailiffs will visit the address you give when applying for the warrant.

Also, in cases where the defendant has lots of warrants against them, then the bailiff may have extra info (gleaned from other claimants) on where to track down a defendant.

Read through the thread and you will see that you don't need to wait to submit a MCOL at each stage.

I read the contribution by Quentin. Thank you for that. However, just to check with athomick, did you address your claim to mobile matters (UK) ltd t/a mobile outlet or mobile outlet and if it was mobile outlet did you then change it to mobile matters (UK) ltd t/a mobile outlet when it came to sending in the bailiffs.

You can't change the defendant's name when applying for a warrant.

(If you did, it would be refused.)

The warrant is taken out against the defendant on the court order made at the time of the judgement.

My claim was to Mobile Matters (UK) Ltd. I don't know where the bailiffs got the cheque but don't worry about this as they know the company better than any of us and know where to go. I did put the new address in the extra info section when applying for the warrant though just in case.

I requested to enter judgement online last night, does anyone know how long it takes for MCOL to process. I was hoping to issue a warrant ASAP.
