Independant Mobile Phone Dealer Association - Want to stop Cashbacks
The IMPDA want to make offers fairer for all and not an outright ban.
In the early days they wanted an outright ban, but after a few months of wrangling and slanging matches they are in agreement as to the way forward.
We have received cooperation from Ofcom and MPs and would greatfully request cooperation from Consumers and the Networks in attempting to make this product that most people have nowadays a pleasant and hassle free purchase.0 -
If it was possible to cancel straight away if/when a company goes bust as in CNM etc. that would go a long way to help customer confidence.
I mentioned a good few months ago if it would be possible to insure against this sort of thing, a small peace of mind for maybe a small outlay as with phone insurance say (£3.99 month), I would rather pay this with a guarantee.

Hi
I took over my own paper work and showed them this at their office in Bradford they asked me to come back in the afternoon to collect my cheque for the full amount which i did, the only problem is that the cheque was for £96 as they wanted to pay me in 5 x instalments and not the full amount, so i refused this as if i had taken it i would of had to submit a new claim against them less £96.00. Obvoiusly the people at the office are still getting paid and their attitude towards you will be quote" If you do not take the £96.00 you will have to wait longer if you go through the courts" Hope this helps.0 -

I meant if a company goes bust, as in CNM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to some people, any company going bust MUST be run by crooks.0

I have posted this on another section, but i think i should have posted it here, so appologies for any duplicate post.
I come accross this from the dealers assocciation, they are asking for our help in fighting cashback. looks like they have already had a meeting with Ofcom, and having a go with MP's next week as well. As their are many hundreds owed on the forum, it might help to get those in government moving to sort this. At this stage with sites still doing cashback, they need to sort this now, you never know this might put a stop to the Mobile Outlet playing around with peoples lives and cause us all less stress claiming cashback they fail to pay. This is what they put...
We the IMPDA (Independent Mobile Phone Dealers Association) are currently engaged in actively holding discussions with regulators and UK policy makers with regards to cashback, the treatment of dealers by networks which led to this and to force change to protect the consumer. We have already had meetings with Ofcom and meetings with MP;s is imminent.
However we are asking all those who have victims of mis-sold cashback deals to help us push for change. If you have been a victim, please contact your MP and ask them to sign the Early Day Motion No 696 in support of the IMPDA and asking for change. In addition please ask your MP to support MP Roger Godsiff in asking for an adjournment debate so that the cashback issue can be debated on the floor of the House of Commons which may lead to legislation.
The IMPDA is pushing for urgent change but we also need you the publics support so that consumers will not be put to this situation again. We are being successful but your support is vital if change is to come on this subject. Please act now. If you would like to make a donation to help us then please go to www.impda.co.uk where you can make a donation to the fighting fund.0 -
I'm quite annoyed for 1 thing: today my sister received a letter from the court saying that the bailiff wasn't able to get any money because the TMO manager wasn't there and there weren't any goods in TMO to seize.
Ofcourse wasn't happy to hear that as I was dealing with her case online from beginning till end.
doesn't sound promising for those of us who have just issued warrants. So what have you been advised to do? will the bailiff keep going back until they get the cheque? do you have to make any further payments for them to do this??
Thanks0 -
She will keep on going to TMO and ask about it I think without paying any more fees to the court.
But it seems nothing is promising about getting the money back
I'll give the bailiff some more time to see what responses she will get from them because they can't tell her everytime the same answer.0
