I just wanted to stop by to give my support and encouragement to the ladies waiting to TTC.

There are so many threads with sad stories about people with kids having major issues many of which probably could have been avoided if they had not rushed into having kids before being financially prepared and in a stable long term relationship. So well done you for being sensible!

I have been in the same situation and know it can be so hard to wait! I am now pregnant in my mid thirties. Keep up the good work and good luck to you all.

What a nice thing to say! It's definately needed when all around you there is (royal) baby fever! This year for me has been about paying down debt and getting life sorted. Next year will be baby baby baby! :D
Some times you have to hold back to go forward to where you want to be.

I have to ditto the thanks for this post Gigglepig. It's nice to hear from someone who chose to wait and who hasn't regretted it. It was a question I pondered on the old 'waiting TTC' thread - if you asked the ladies on the 'trying to conceive when its just not happening' thread would they still say to wait or go for it!?

It's the constant 'what ifs' which can be daunting, we are all waiting for very sensible reasons, but sometimes it's hard to remember why those reasons are important. The thought that one day we may end up on the 'trying to conceive when it's just not happening' board once we have stopped waiting and start doing is something that i think we all have at the back of our mind.

Oh well, we cannot predict these things - at least my step kids are proof my husband is fertile so we are 50% there! :rotfl:
:) Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often! :p

    I'll post up my details:

    My Age/Partners age: 27/35

Time together: 8 years (haha! eek!!)

What are you waiting for?!: to clear majority of debts so we can move out of London

When will you be TTC? from December 2013 with an aim to be pregnant/give birth before I am 30 (2015)

Any preTTC prep? going to start taking folic acid and vitamin d tablets and going to start plying the OH with some extra vitamins! No contraception - finished a year ago but only started my regular cycles again a month or so ago!! So glad I did!!!

I'm taking my mind off TTC by... focusing on moneysaving and career - I'm on a fixed-term contract with a view to be made permanent so I don't want to get pregnant before the position is confirmed and then i get 6 months 100% salary maternity pay so that would come in handy!! :)
    Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j

Admittedly I went a bit green eyed when I saw that too! That is very good!

It is a bit too good to be true isn't it? :o I had to read the maternity pay information twice to be sure, after 6 months it goes down to a reduced maternity level - can't remember exactly as don't have the document in front of me. So the financial impact salary-wise if we did only 6 month maternity would be limited/minimal but I wouldn't want to start with the level of debts we currently have - it keeps us on the breadline getting rid of it and it wouldn't be fair on us or a little one to be spending most of our pay on stupid debts.

Haha - when I read it a part of me did think - oooh! 6 months off full pay - get preggers now and enjoy the time off!!! :rotfl: But no - got to prepare for it!!!

Oh Im torn between coming off my pill next week when my packet runs out or staying on it for one more month.

The more I read the more confused and undecided I get!! I would like to come of it now as 1) Ive been on it so long I feel ready for a break from it and 2) Im worried it could take ages to get back to normal- BUT Im worried that Ill come on when Im on holiday (being on whith period pains and possible side effects from coming off the pill whilst abroad in 40 degree heat whilst lounging round the pool really does not appeal!!)

    Grrrr!

Lol thats my little rant over with!:)

    How is everyone?
  • Hi ladies,

As the starter of the original "waiting" thread, just thought I'd pop in to say how great it is that there is still a lot of support on here. I hadn't realised how long ago it was that I started it to be honest

So... Now I'm 28 weeks pregnant having taken 11 months to fall pregnant (one miscarriage on the way). Would I still wait if I had my time again? Yes. Financially we're in a better position.

I'm also not generally a moaner, but be glad you don't have bumps at the moment. It's so blooming hot at the moment!

    Ohhh...shiny new thread!

    My TTC Stats:

    My Age/Partners age: 27/27
Time together: 10 years (married since January 2013)
What are you waiting for?!: A bit of time together as a married couple, decoratings/sorting the house out and have a final 'just us' relaxing do nothing holiday somewhere faraway.
When will you be TTC? January 2014
Any preTTC prep? I came off the pill and have been taking Folic Acid
I'm taking my mind off TTC by... booking a holiday, keeping fit and healthy, decorating the house and getting to know my cycle a little bit more.

I've not been on here for a while but thought an update would be a good idea. Having taken my last pill at the end of April I thought it would take a while to have a period but roll on to 12th July and hello Aunt Flo (just 2.5 months) :j. It's safe to say I was thrilled, but I was also wary about it not necessarily being a regular cycle. Last week I decided to start using the Ovulation sticks I brought to see if I could get to know if/when I ovulated. Finally today I had a positive result! :T It also helps me to avoid getting pregnant until we are ready ;) So fingers crossed I will soon know how long my cycles last because to be honest I really don't have a clue.

Morning ladies. Hope you're all having a great week.

I just have a quick question, possibly a bit TMI but I guess this is the kind of subject where over sharing is inevitable!:o

Has anyone else recently come off hormonal contraception (I had a nexplanon out a couple of weeks ago) and been really horny? I have read that the synthetic hormones can suppress your drive but I didn't expect it to bounce back so strong. I contemplated waking OH up in the middle of the night for a go the other day!
