Those who are waiting to TTC (New Thread)

Hi everyone, I lurked a bit on the old thread but thought I'd post seeing as there's a new thread
My Age/Partners age: 31/31
Time together: 2.5yrs and we got engaged 2wks ago today
What are you waiting for?!: To get married (still working out when that will be) and I have a loan and credit card I need to pay off. Oh and I want to progress in my job and get a higher salary too. So finances are really the most important thing.
When will you be TTC? Realistically it's looking like 2015/2016(will that be leaving it too late? Really scared of that)
Any preTTC prep? I've been off the pill for a while and I'm trying to get as fit and healthy as possible
I'm taking my mind off TTC by... focusing on the wedding and reminding myself how much easier it will be if we're financially secure. Also trying to focus on the things it's easy to do without kids and try to enjoy them whilst we can. It's really hard waiting though when I'm SO broody and jealous of people that haven't been so stupid with debt and can afford to have babies now. I also feel really guilty as it is me that has the debt / rubbish job and if my fianc! were with someone else he wouldn't have this stuff to think about. He says if he were with someone else he wouldn't be thinking about babies as I'm the only one he'd want to be the mother of his children so he doesn't want me to feel that way but it still goes round in my head sometimes. As you can see, trying to take my mind off ttc is a bit of a hard task!:rotfl:0 -

am I the only wrinkly here?
I've had real bad bump envy today. Went our with my very pregnant friend and she was so happy and excited about her baby coming soon (if a bit uncomfortable in the heat!)
I feel like its never going to be my turn. By the time I get my ducks in a row I'll be too old
Sorry for the miserable post, not my day today.
WD x
You're not alone, I'll be 34 in a few weeks and I too worry that by the time things are 'right' it'll be too late for me.
For the past few years I've reassured myself with the thought that things don't really go down hill too quickly until after 35 so there was plenty of time...now my 34th birthday is around the corner and it's likely to be 3 years until I finish my qualification making me 37 (which in my head is practically 40) and that thought is thoroughly depressing!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
I hope no one minds me joining in. I can't conceive naturally but we are waiting to start the surrogacy process. We can't adopt because I'm "severely disabled".
My Age/Partners age: 27/31
Time together: just under 2 years but we've been friends since high school
What are you waiting for?!: Marriage and legal issues
When will you be TTC? We need a surrogate so it's difficult but we are hoping to have baby by 2016
Any preTTC prep? Research and saving like crazy!
I'm taking my mind off TTC by... I'm not! Even thinking of our wedding makes my mind wander to the baby I want after. I've knitted so much baby stuff it's unreal (friends love it though) and I can hardly look at a baby without welling up. I work with kids and sometimes I just want to take one home with me (I wouldn't).0 -

Thanks for your reply Browneyedbazzi, it sucks getting older doesn't it?!
What qualification are you working towards? Is there no way you can try sooner and maybe take a break from studying or go part-time? I'm sure you've thought through all this before, so feel free to tell me to shut my trap!
In the plus side I don't feel or look old. I get ID'd all the damn time! And I'm fit and healthy so hopefully my chances aren't too bad
WD x0 -

Thanks WD - getting old is rubbish! I don't look my age but it's been a couple of years since I was last asked for ID lol
I'm not going to say what the qualification is on here - there aren't that many people doing it (and I'm probably the only woman my age in the country on it) so if my employer read this they'd be able to identify me and I rather they couldn't! The qualification won't work part time or with a break for maternity leave in the middle because it is portfolio based and all the evidence in your portfolio and the related exams have to be completed within a set window - if you take a break then all the stuff done before would end up out of time so you'd have to start again. I think it was designed for men!
TBH, if my OH says he wants to start trying tomorrow I'd probably say to hell with the qualification, but if he isn't ready until I'm half way through then it'll be a lot harder to drop it and waste all the work done to that point.
It's good that you're fit and healthy because that'll definitely help you on the way when the time comes...have to keep the positive thoughts going!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Ooh, I'd love to join
My TTC Stats:
My Age/Partners age:20/24 Quite young I know
Time together: 4 Years, but we've known each other for 8
What are you waiting for?!:Money. I've promised to try and hold off on all baby craziness until we're At Least out of the overdraft.
When will you be TTC? Was planned for September, but looking like early next year now.
Any preTTC prep? Quitting Smoking, this will help with saving money as well so it needs to be done!
I'm taking my mind off TTC by: Crafting, writing, getting healthy, seeing friends and getting some qualifications. None of it's actually working though xD
The wait's so hard! There is hope for us yet0 -
Not sure if I belong now here as we are TTC!
But our stats:
My age/his age: 22(23 on Thurs eek)/27
Time together:18 Months - quick but we are ready for it :-)
What are you waiting for: nothing now!!!
When: I stopped taking the pill in. May, have had one 'normal' cycle...AF was due yesterday. We are officially NTNP but petrified of telling my parents haha
Prep: I've cleared my credit card, lost almost 5st in weight (not so much baby related but important for healthyness ), we're saving £120 a month each and generally preparing lives - getting a better fridge freezer next week, could do with a proper oven but no where to fit it in the kitchen atm!
Taking my mind off it?: just trying to not get too excited! The fear of telling my parents is enough to convince myself to not get excited haha don't think my dad will be impressed as whilst he loves me and bf we aren't married and he is old school nowadays haha************************************
