ilovelondontown - I'm in a similar position in that i want my loan gone before we start trying.

I too have obsessively worked out what maternity i could take etc. I've come to the conclusion if we saved £3-4k then 1 year off would be tight, but doable.

Loan is due to be paid off my April next year (my 26th birthday is my target date) and then we should be able to save the £3/4k in the remainder of 2014. So really, we'd start TTC around Sept 2014 time I think.

Ps i already have the pram and car seat picked out ...:rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hello ladies, it's good to see the old thread having a bit of a revival (even if it is technically a new thread). It's nice to see so many of you have pretty solid plans...december isn't far away at all!

As for me, I feel in limbo because I'm starting a new professional qualification that will take 2-3 years to do. It's a great thing for my career (and something I really wanted to do a few years ago but couldn't get funding for) but doing it and maternity leave etc just won't be possible so it looks like TTC will be firmly on the back burner for quite a long time....and I can't help but think it'll be too late once it's back on the agenda.

I seem to be surrounded by pg ladies at the moment and as much as I'm happy for them all I feel rather sad for myself and a bit of an emotional wreck. I was having a chat with a colleague about some things the other day (not about having kids, but about some work that I've done) and she randomly said 'You'll make a good mum'...at which point it took all my self control to not burst into tears! I need to get a grip!
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

Aww, I liked the original thread, but never mind, this one looks good too :)

Ah sorry daisiegg, it's nothing personal to the other thread :o, I just think it's quite hard to start a flow of conversation when it goes back to 3 years +! and I just felt like myself and the new WTTC-ers needed a new thread to join into.

Lovely to see a collective here, and lovely to know I'm not alone wttc....

From the looks of things the biggest reasons for waiting come down to finances, career and weddings! Good luck anna_otter!

Jonesy88, share your pram and car seat, I haven't quite got that far yet but do admit to enjoying a trip to mothercare when I'm picking out a gift for newborn of a friend more than I should :rotfl:

I used to watch obem but now ttc is getting closer I cant watch it- or I seriously would start getting doubts as Im rubbish with pain!!

I do keep getting bad bump envy- does anyone else? I think summer doesnt help as bumps are much more noticeable (rather than hidden under a coat and loads of layers!!)

I watch OBEM and get baby envy, sad I know!

As for those baby bumps you see so many of, if you do the math, you'll realise that a lot of people had a frisky winter! ;)

    TTC Stats:

My Age/Partners age: 28/33 how long together: 4.5 yrs, married 1 yr 3 months

What are you waiting for?!: M.O.N.E.Y! Thats the only thing. Husband is a full time student just finished his first year, I am working and without my wage we'd be pretty stuffed! We also have to factor in maintanence for my 2 stepchildren :-)

Any preTTC prep? You ladies make me feel very disorganised in this respect! I take a multivitamin with folic acid in it, thats about it...

I'm taking my mind off TTC by... Taking a temporary promotion at work (it managed to distract me for the first month anyway!). Also I am occupying myself hanging out with my baby niece and nephews (not really 'taking my mind off though!).
:) Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often! :p

Frisky winter! lol, i never thought of that! :rotfl:

The pram i like is a Cosatto Giggle .... http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_149005_10001

The car seat is a maxi-cosi - quite a well known popular one i think.

Although i do look at bumps, i feel for heavily pregnant women in this heat - must be so uncomfortable!

I feel super old :( am I the only wrinkly here? :o

I've had real bad bump envy today. Went our with my very pregnant friend and she was so happy and excited about her baby coming soon (if a bit uncomfortable in the heat!)

I feel like its never going to be my turn. By the time I get my ducks in a row I'll be too old

Sorry for the miserable post, not my day today.
