It must be a lot to think about, having to keep track of when is and isn't safe. That's one of my concerns about coming off the pill. I'd want to come off and get my periods back before ttc, but wouldn't know what to do contraception-wise in the meantime... do you have to do all that charting and temperature/ mucus monitoring??
Try not to stress about how long it'll take you conceive. You were worried about the period and that didn't take anywhere near as long as it could have.(that was supposed to sound positive - I'm not telling you off for being a worrier!) Just try to enjoy the ttc part, that's the fun bit!
I'm feeling cautiously optimistic as we're moving forward. Again it looks like we'll be holding back the ttc date, but might still get rid of the pills in February. Progress will be made! Soon. There is hope for us yet0 -

Don't worry about all the mucus stuff, blurgh!
I would suggest condoms in the meantime and just keep an eye on your periods/cycle length. That's what I'm planning on doing.
The temp charting etc is useful if you struggle TTC but I think at the beginning it's best to chill out and see how it goes. As long as you DTD every 2 days you should be fine.
Just to add I'm a sexual health Dr so this is my field but none of this constitutes medical advice as that's not allowed!0 -
Yes condoms are the way to go I think, horrible things that they are.
I have been monitoring cervical mucus and taking my temperature when I wake up each day. I know it is probably overkill but it can't hurt to get to know my cycle.
I know I am a bit of a worrier, I absolutely am. It is almost self protection as much as anything else. If I let myself think I might get pregnant easily and quickly, I will be devastated if I don't. If I keep telling myself it is going to be difficult and take ages, hopefully it will be easier to cope with if it does. Does that sound mad?!0 -

Not mad at all just try and remember to chill out and enjoy it a bit.
I'm also a bit worried that it might take a while as I have symptoms of PCOS. Doesn't help that I'm one of 6 so mum had no trouble so thinks we'll all get pregnant at the drop of a hat! Bless her had to laugh she was anti baby until I got married (at 27!) then suddenly it's where's my grandchild.
Why is it nobody tells you when you get married first its all 'how's married life' well the same and then 'where are the babies' it's relentless.0 -

My sister (a junior doctor) thinks I may have PCOS but she is purely basing this on the fact I am overweight. I don't think I have any other symptoms. A doctor did once say they thought I might have endometriosis but it never went any further than that.
My mum thought she would struggle to conceive (no idea why) but I was a honeymoon baby and she got pregnant fine with all my siblings. Just have to wait and see, I suppose...0 -
Ergh! Condoms. I'd forgotten all about the hideous things. They smell really strange and unsexy.
Daisiegg - Just remember, if your sister is a junior dr, then all this medical stuff is fresh in her mind, she probably sees symptoms of everything in everyone she knows!
It's weird how obsessed other people seem to be about when you're planning to have a baby and things. All I get from my family is "when are you two going to make it official, when are you going to start your family?" In a way I love the questioning, as it's a way to talk about babies, but it does get a bit draining. Especially when I'd love to get married and pregnant immediately! Pretty sure men don't get these interrogations all the time!
Also, expecting the worst is quite sensible. Better to prepare for spending ages trying, then having a nice surprise than the other way round. There is hope for us yet0 -

Other symptoms might include irregular periods, acne and being more hairy than the average lady and sometimes but not always weight.
I have a few of these doesn't cause me any harm at present so can't be bothered to do anything about it. If I struggle to conceive then it will be relevant I suppose and I'll badger someone at work to scan me.
I've been on the pill on and off for the last 8 years and haven't had a proper non pill induced period for at least 2. I'm currently on cerazette and enjoy not having any at all! Definitely in for a shock come sept.0 -

Thanks - I know. I have a bit of acne (that was why I was on Dianette for years) though it is not horrendous, but no hairiness.
One of my colleagues has less than two weeks before she goes on maternity leave. I am so jealous!0 -

Ooh nice to see someone else is still here
I am ok, wondering what will happen with my cycle this month. I think I may have ovulated around day 18 but I'm really not sure. It is day 24 at the moment so I should have a whole before af either way. Also thinking of moving over to the TTC board in a few weeks as we are going to possibly start almost trying in December....eek.
I have not lost any weight...it is hard0
