I am torn because one part to me wants to be pregnant ASAP and another bit almost doesn't want to, so I can enjoy my holiday in April properly! But no - really, I would love to be pregnant by April. Everything we are booking is cancellable in case I am pregnant and unwell or something.

Really weird to think that I might be pregnant Christmas 2014 or even....gasp....with a baby?!

Hubby and I are talking about babies and pregnancy so much at the moment. He thinks I am really pessimistic because I am just convinced it is going to take us ages to conceive whereas he has faith in his super sperm! I suspect he is in for a rude awakening :(

Also, it is a stupid reason, but work is so tough and horrible at the moment. I could just leave anyway but don't want to without a solid reason like a baby. But the sooner I get pregnant the closer I get to being able to leave!

I know what you mean- its so busy at the moment- and I keep thinking 'oh I wish I was pregnant and getting ready to go on maternity leave!!

We dont have any holidays booked yet for next year- but we have said if Im not pregnant in the summer holidays we will do a last minute sun holiday.

Does Day 45 mean you've only missed one period? In which case it could be a fluke, and the next one will hit you in a couple of weeks. :)

No, I am counting from the first day of the 'period' I had after stopping the pill - which would not have been a proper period, but a withdrawal bleed. So I took my last pill about 52 days ago, and apart from the withdrawal bleed, have not had a period yet.

    :(

Well I'm no expert on this, given that I'm still on my pills, but a lot of women say it took them a month or two for things to get back to normal. If it's getting you down you could always pop to your GP and see if they have any advice? They might be able to put your mind at ease if nothing else

I think they would say it is too early to be worried and they may say I need to lose weight (which I am doing). I think if no period by the New Year I will definitely go.

I know I am being silly and part of the reason I came off the pill 4 months before we actually plan to start trying was exactly this - I knew it could take a while to get back to normal. So I don't know why I am so upset and worried that it is taking a while!
  • Daisy, my doctor offered me blood tests when my period hadn't shown up after three months. I think it was because I also mentioned that pre-pill (from what I could remember as it was 10 years ago!) they'd never been regular. Not sure what yours were like before but might be worth a trip to the doctors when you get a chance if you're worrying.

Is that when it actually turned out you were pregnant? :D sadly not the case for me; I have done a few tests at various times just to be sure.

Thanks for the comment, I will definitely go to the doctor if they haven't turned up in January. Want to lose a bit of weight first too to see if that makes any difference and also so the doctor can't just say 'it's your weight' and leave it at that.

I have no idea what they were like pre pill except that they were very painful - which is why I went on the pill at about 13! I literally have no recollection of whether they were regular or not.

Never in my life have I actually WANTED a period to come! I wouldn't care how horrid or painful it was, I would just be pleased to know things were all working :(

Weird thing is, I was tracking temps and cm and so on and I was pretty sure I actually ovulated about 10 days ago. But maybe I didn't, and my body was just lying.

Someone else needs to post about waiting to TTC now before this thread turns into 'daisie's menstrual cycle tmi thread'!! :rotfl:

    My TTC Stats:

    My Age/Partners age: 25/31
Time together: almost 6 years, married for just over 1
What are you waiting for?!: building up some finances and waiting until my job wont include frequent night shifts/weekend/random hours
When will you be TTC? Sep/Oct 2014 (less than a year away now!)
Any preTTC prep? nope, not yet
I'm taking my mind off TTC by putting baby stuff, kindly given to us by siblings whose children have got older, hidden away in the loft! and have a holiday abroad next year to look forward to (which to be fair wouldn't be ideal if pregnant/very little one in tow!)

And despite myself and partner being agreed and happy not to start TTC till Sep/Oct 2014, do find myself getting 'bump envy' already....

  • Hi all,

I have been reading this thread for a while and thought it would be time to join.

I am 34 and my OH is 38. We are getting married in March and I can't wait!!!! :)

To be honest we can't quite agree when we should be starting to ttc. OH would love for me to come off the pill today but I am thinking to wait until after the wedding. Now I know we aren't the youngest anymore :( so maybe it is right to start sooner rather than later???

Also I became an auntie last week for the first time and it did make me quite broody. Especially when we went shopping for my little nephew!!

OH and I talked last night and I have enough of my pills left until January so we have a "provisional" ttc month of January 2014!!

Looking forward to getting to know you all :)
