Has anyone using Bott and co received a payment from Thomson since the Dawson vs Thomson decision?

Bott sent out an update on progress today...re Thomson
    Thomson & Thomas Cook
Negotiations are still progressing well with these airlines. Please keep in mind that there are a significant number of claims with both Thomson and Thomas Cook so it may take some time to review them all but we are doing all we can to get these cases paid out in time for Christmas.
  • I was a bit disappointed with the update from Bott. Nothing has changed from the update a month ago, discussions are still ongoing.
  • Flyhigh88, I think given the amount of claims going through at the moment, any progress is good progress. Put yourself in the shoes of any of the JET2 passengers and then you will have real disappointment and frustration.

I contacted them as I wasn't liking these emailed updates, which is basically the same as you, me and sundry and fired out.

Did get one of the team leaders responding.

Like above I did see the above update, but as you've mentioned it loses that individuality feel, but having spoken recently with the team leader it has kinda eased my mind.

I'm pretty confident I'm going to receive a pay-out, although I could well be wrong, thankfully I'm not budgeting Xmas with any incoming money (tackling debt with that and buying our kid a bed :rotfl: ). Although as said, not counting on the money, just a feeling I have.

Although looking at the success thread, using a company like Bott whilst relieving some of the possible stress of courts and stuff does pass on a greater waiting time as there are people being paid out by Thomas Cook (who I'm with) a lot earlier than myself even though their flight was way later than mine last year. But it will be due to the volume they will be dealing with, so that's the downfall of using NWNF companies.

Talk of the devil and get an email from Bott & Co.

Headed "Xmas Present from Bott & Co".

Get all excited and open it up!

And it's a bleedin flyer for sickness claims, for god sakes. Yeah we'll give you £100 for contracting some life threatening disease or falling down a flight of stairs and suffering great pain in the process.

    Yeah happy Xmas you spuds.

    :D:p

fd1972uk, some LIP's are beginning to be paid out by Thomas Cook, but it's still a lottery as to who and when. A lot would depend on how well you conducted your case.

Bott's have a huge responsibility to many TC clients and it's in their interest to get cases resolved as soon as possible. It's just a slow process when the airlines either drag their feet or are genuinely snowed under by numbers.

This is from an update that Bott's issued last week. It sounds quite positive to me.

As we explained in our previous emails, we wrote to all of the airlines asking them to settle outstanding claims following the Supreme Court decisions. Here is where things stand with individual airlines at the moment:

  • Anyone who has been paid out using Bott, did they contact you first or was the first time you knew when a cheque came?

    Bott will contact you first.

Some airlines require documentation to be signed by you first, as Qatar did in my case, not sure about TC tho.:)

They contacted to advise claim had been settled and could take up to 42 days to receive compensation from airline. They then requested bank details for bank transfer. Finally today an email stating claim had been paid. It was in our accounts 2 days ago only 14 days after they informed us that BA had settled. :j
