They claim loads of benefits as MP's. Second homes funded by the general public being just part of the problem.

And as to their overblown salaries of which they want a 7% raise...ha!

Utter leaches the whole lot of them.

Yes they do claim expenses but like it or not those MP benefits as you call them are not illegal and have nothing to do with benefit fraud.
    It's someone else's fault.

I wonder if people think they get more brownie points from somewhere by posting on a forum that they are going to report someone? Either report or don't.

As you have reported the person it won't be long before you find out from said person if they will be called in or not, possibly better than asking strangers on a forum?

Not irrelevant as It all comes out of the public purse. We support these over privileged, self serving sods.

Hmm I'm one of those too (as are all public sector employees). I had to go on training last month, how bad of me to ask them to pay my hotel and train out of their public purse.

Not really the same as having the rest of us pay rent or mortgage on a second home for some overpaid MP is it?

I certainly don't agree with second homes and I think they are overpaid and should have caps on their expenses like we do (eg £140 hotel in London, £25 pn dinner maximum etc), but you cannot state they are benefit cheats, they are not, they are employees taking advantage of a generous expenses policy.

the queen and her brood are paid millions from public funds.
would you consider her to be on benefit too?
  • How do they manage to fool atos? I've read about people with genuine claims having to go to appeal. Why don't the frauds get caught out during this process?

because genuinely sick/disabled are so used to their conditions that they tend to downplay their difficulties because they see them as 'normal'

i know someone appealing at the moment, that openly says he plans to 'shake and cry' at the tribunal.

if i knew his details then id report him

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of it in that way before.

i reported someone for benefit fraud today,

they are claiming disability benefit and have lied on forms to make it seem worse

they are also getting carer's allowance when she does not need caring for at all.

but she has told me she is getting a lifetime DLA award does that matter ??

    what will happen now?

    will they investigate ??

will she be called in or something ?

i do feel bad for doing it but i don't think that it is fair :(

how long does it usually take for it to be investigated?

Comes across as score settling, rather than being public spirited, why the urgency to know so much?, you have done your bit, the rest is out of your hands, now it is down to due process.
