Thanks everyone, it really does mean a lot to me.

Well everything is just about ready, Dad and I shall be going down to church after the morning school run to put everything in place. It's going to look the bees knees even if I say so myself :) DD has written a prayer which Dad is going to read out for her, I'll put part of it here for you all

'Dear God......I hope you will let him listen to STATUS QUO, which was his favourite music'

I predict several damp eyes tomorrow night.

Not sure how much chance I will get to post tomorrow but I will let you know how it goes and thanks once again for all the hugs :)

I did pretty much nothing when I got home from work yesterday, had a splitting headache and decided that flying could wait until today. Have managed to get a good chunk done this morning.

Ok I give in, the purple flowered plant stays ! Though I might have to trim it back a bit, unless of course any of you want to come down here and dig it up and take it away !!

AnW'sMum - hope everything goes ok today
happyathome_withmyboys - glad the trip to the doctors went well.

  • Morning all. just a quick post before getting ready for playgroup.
I had a terrible day yesterday. I did my list and everything in the morning, so not a bad morning really. It was after dropping DS2 at Nursery in the afternoon that it got bad.
DS3 had a tantrum the whole way home, about a half mile, then i discovered black biro "pictures all over my livingroom wall. we only decorated in February and i've prided myself on keeping it nice ever since. So I wasn't a happy bunny.:( Then DS3 was constantly contrary with my for the rest of day, first he'd want X then he didn't, then he wanted it again:mad:
Anyway, put Boys to bed at seven, went in to check them like i do every night at half 8, they still awake and room is covered in sudacrem. its everywhere. carpet is coated. I spent an hour scrubbing it off but there is still loads that wont seem to come out. Any ideas anyone?

    Right sorry for that!:o
    Dustykitten Hope you feel better.
AnW'sMum Hope today goes well. sending Hugs
cha97michelle Thanks for taking over lists. I certainly am boogied out would love a new challenge.
tracey Glad you got the all clear from HV. I hate seeing HV as i'm always sure she's gonna find something!
happyathome Glad the GP took you seriously. hope your feeling better about things. you certainly sound like it. i think sometimes just talking about worries lifts them a bit off the shoulders.

Right i'm off now to sort kids out. sorry if i missed anyone but sending hugs to all.(((( all ))))
    Nothing to declare ;)

This takes me back! When DD was 2 (now 5), grandparents babysat her for a long weekend - she was left for her nap, and aparently the room/baby/clothed *everything* was covered :rotfl: . Granny nearly died with shock  put DD in the bath, only to manage to spread it everwhere and have a slippery-eel of a child! Flannel covered, duvet covered, carpet covered. You get the point - I sympathise.
I *did* find a solvent - I think it was white spirit (I'm fairly sure in fact) dabbed on, then washed after - a couple of washes got the smell out! This won't help with the carpet though - can't put that in the WM can you!! I found out by doing a little hunting on the web - if I remember a US site came up with the goods, I searched using the chemical name (zinc oxide), rather than 'sudocrem'
Other suggestions given to me at the time included: lemon juice, washing up liquid, swarfega.... I shall have a hunt for you...
    good luck

    edit: found this...

If I remember correctly, Sudocrem is a zinc oxide-based cream. In that case,
this information may be useful (from
    http://cleaning.lifetips.com/faq.asp__Q__SiteID__E__20__A__QuestionID__E__86188_
    _A__type__E__0

"Zinc Oxide (Desitin) Stain Removal from Carpet
To remove zinc oxide from your carpet, first scrape off as much of the zinc
oxide as possible with a dull knife. Then, sprinkle powder (baking powder,
talcum powder, cornstarch, etc.) on the spot, give it time to absorb the
grease, then vacuum. Repeat as necessary. You should be able to remove
whatever stain remains on your carpet by washing with a solution of warm
water and a liquid dishwashing detergent designed for cutting grease. If any
residue remains after your carpet has dried, you can treat the area with dry
    cleaning fluid."

    Hope that helps
  • Newmrslockwood - I can only empathise - I've got exactly the same problem: we have a prehistoric-type circle of sudocrem in the middle of the boys' bedroom. I have tried everything to shift it - stardrops, proprietary carpet cleaning stuff, white spirit, WD40, steam cleaning: the stain remains.
My advice is to shrug your shoulders, pretend you don't care and save yourself some elbow grease....
It doesn't come off computer screens easily either...
    Is it home time yet?
