DH is seeing to bedtime with DS tonight so he's nowhere near being settled, but I'm keeping well away!

nicki - hope your day improved after not too great a start
tracy - brilliant news about your little ones appt today.:j
AnW's mum - will be thinking of you all tomorrow
kiwi- hope your DD is feeling better soon
lil_me - take it easy, don't want your break next week to be clouded by you being in pain because you didn't rest up properly
Shirley - the picture of the purple flower does look pretty. Let me know when's good for a cuppa for you
happyathome - excellent news that you've found a doctor who will be able to help and listen to you
Michelle- thanks for agreeing to keep us up to speed with the lists next week.

Today was my first day back at work and so I feel a bit tired tonight. Got the lounge hoovered and dusted, but the windows haven't been done although they do need a clean. Job for later in the weekend maybe.

Early night with a book for me.
    take care.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Vaccuumed floor and sofas - cat hair city - and wet dusted. Plants watered and there are no cobwebs. Not much else needs doing in here. Even the usual Hotspot hasn't re-appeared. I feel quite cheated.

I keep forgetting about Springwatch, but I had my own mini-version in the garden just now. At least 30 rooks have been in battle (or something) for the past hour, making an absolute racket. A three way cat fight involving my two and over the road's and me screeching at the lot of them. That'll be the coffee then.
I'm going to do last nights ironing with BBC2 thing at 9 (lost my telly pages so I could be wrong) and the dishes. Again.
Edited to say, Its on Thursday, I'm not really partial to Andrew Marr..

I was wondering Lil_me, whether anyone would look after us while you're away. Michelle, we almost certainly promise to try and behave while you're Fly-sitting us. ;)

That's it for the evening for me, unless I'm pinging off the walls still at midnight..

Thank you to everyone who keeps posting about DS - its so lovely you take the time for us and are pleased for us! Couldn't speak to DH as he's been locked in a legal meeting all day so sent him a brief text saying was fine so when he came home, he was jumping about he was so pleased!

In the middle of writing thank you notes for the gifts from the Christening but am getting a numb hand and brain from writing the same thing. DH has gone for his training run (hes training for a half matharon), DS is in bed so am bored! lol. MIL has just rung asking if she can 'borrow' DS for a few hours tomorrow pm to take him visiting someone so a few hours to myself, we are at playgroup am and someone has sent a message with MIL saying she'll introduce herself as she knows me but I don't know her - am quite looking forward to chatting to someone new! Just watching that Trinny and Susanna programme on 3 so have decided I'm going to go shopping and treat myself to a few bits as feel a bit cr*p at minute about how I look.

AnW's Mum sorry meant to say shall be thinking about you and your family tomorrow, hope it goes well xx
Lil me please take it easy!

Must get back to doing some more cards now I've had a rest as its something hanging over me! Tatty Bye!

  • Thanks for the link happyathome_withmyboys. How will I find the new thread next week?? Just so I am prepared and not sat here talking to myself.

Well didn't manage to get much done this morning before going to work. Usually get quite a bit done, 2 loads of washing, 1 tumble drying, any left over pots washed and lunches made but actually managed to sleep til quite late for me 6.45am. Mind you I did wake up twice after nightmares, where do they come from they are always really weird.

Managed to get some difficult jobs out of the way at work but seemed to take ages. They were the ones I just kept putting off because I didn't really want to do them, so mission accomplished!

Finished early tonight at 5.00 because I wanted to get home to tackle the moutain of pots in the kitchen. My beloved clan didn't bother doing them and as I was shattered and hadn't caused any of the mess the other night I didn't see why I should do them. Of course the mum kicks back in when your up and running again.

Am going to sort out a menu for the rest of the week later, once got jimmies on and snuggled down. In fact I think I might do one for the month. I always used to shop for the month and have a monthly menu (when kids were little) it always worked out well so I think I'll go back to it.

Think I'll put it everything on an excel sheet and will be able to just jig it about for next month.

Anyone got any suggestions for monthly shop planning??

Thanks for the good wishes re my DD she's only 9 and it's unusual for a child to get migraines apparently  that's why dr today said he wants to rule anything else out. DD's a complete wus with her own blood and gets very worried so I'm a bit nervous for her/me re mondays appt but it has to be done :o

Shell my DD's just had 4 inches taken off and it's taken me a while to get used to it she, however, loves it :D
Happyathome So glad your getting some real help now you'll feel sooo much better soon :j
Michelle Well done for taking up the golden mop while lil-me has a well earned knees up :rotfl:
Shirley That is a buddliea (sp) they smell really sweet when the flowers are out and i sympathise as I have one :rotfl: As Happyathome said chop it back each year and that will keep it under control :D
AnW'smum Wishing you strength tonight and tomorrow and lots of happy memories filled with love

Well I haven't managed much more flying but have managed to almost finish my course work except one section which I don't think I can do  It's due in on thursday and my work future depends on my passing  so I'm hoping my tutor has some ideas :rotfl:

  • Thank you sooo much everyone for all your suppport! I wish you all lived closer - except I do seem to chat to you lot more than my physical pals!
Shirley - I knew it was a buddleia (you see - not completely certifiable!)- but yours is so much posher than your neighbours. I shall be looking forever now for a Barbie Buddleia.
Lil-me - have a lovely holiday and I hope it helps you get better.
    Grannynise - yes please!
Kiwi and everyone else - thank you...
Lordy - this sounds like an Oscar speech!
I've been thinking I should just print out the last few weeks threads and give them to the man in the white coat: save time all round.
Also adds a new twist to the book - maybe we shoud call it 'Trials and Tribulations of a Mad Bad Mother'? or 'The Search for Domestic Nirvana in a Crazy World'?
Oh - and I did b**ger all on the list today: sorry.
    Is it home time yet?

Since DD got home last night after her trip to the other side of the world I have done nothing at all in house or garden. Just relieved she is back in one piece and spending some time talking together. It is wonderful to have a female in the house again. I have missed her company but I have really enjoyed all of your company on here. She starts work tomorrow so I will have some time to catch up on cleaning.
tracygI am glad your hv check went well.
AnW's mum I hope everything goes well for tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you all.

I was just thinking we are all chatter boxes this week as the thread was 7 pages last week and we are already at 5  Well if it makes us all a bit less insane, that can only be a good thing.
    I have just caught up,
AnW's mum will be thinking of you tomorrow. hope it all goes well, and is a positive experience for your family
tracey :j woohoo. I think your mother's instincts were spot on anyway, but it's always nice to know everything is ok isn't it. I think we have that either later this month or next month, as they are running a bit behind here as there were loads of september babies that they are still seeing
happyathome you sound a bit happier already just from having a positive experience at the drs.
shirleypark can you come and do my garden too? I took a good long look out of the window, and it is atrocious. The last time i did anything major out there was about a year ago. DH has cut the grass once this year, and done one bit of weeding, but the whole lot of it looks shocking. Once the marking is out the way i'm going to spend 15 minutes a night doing some pruning till it looks better. We live on the sort of street where everyone cleans there car once a week, and their grass is regulation length, and our garden really lets the side down, but in the grand scheme of things at the minute it is low down on my list of priorities.
anyway ladies, about to do some more marking now but i am not going to kill myself tonight. It's a pleasure to be taking charge of the mop next week, i only hope i can whip you all into order as well as moggins and lil-me have done this year. I may even throw in some surprise challenges as i think some of us are perhaps a little '27 fling boogied'out.

    My list for tomorrow:

    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
Dusting and cobweb removal (if you want to dust round things that is fine)
    Level 2
    Vacuum floor and sofas
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
    Clean window
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Level 3
    Wipe light switches and banister
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Declutter mission task
Clear one hotspot of your choice, even if only for 10 minutes

    Wednesday, Master Bedroom & Landing
    Level 1
Remove bed linen and wash, replace with fresh
    Check fire alarms are working
    Level 2
Vacuum floor in bedroom and on landing

    Declutter Mission Task
