She still married me... and the cat.

:rotfl: This made me laugh, it reminded me of something my husband says, "the pecking order in this house is Me, then the cat, then you!" Considering he wasn't even that fussed about cats before we got our first cat, he's might fond of them now!
ETA: Cute cat btw!0 -
Wow taking cats on holiday, I didnt think it could be done, that's interesting. I wish I could take my cat with me but i wouldnt want to risk her rinning off and losing her! Dont think id be able to relax as I can't imagine she would like it. Fortunately I dont go on many holidays

If the cat is old, will it not die soon solving the problem?0

Why do the trolls come out in force everytime anyone starts a thread involving animals
Seriously, some people must really have such dull lives that they have nothing better to do than post provocative posts to get a bit of attention.0 -
What? it's an honest post- if the cat is the problem in the relationship and it is old, when it dies the problem is solved - pretty obvious isn't it?0

I don't thin 5 weekends in 7 months is a lot. I love going away whether for a weekend or longer.
I have 4 cats and a dog. Me and OH try and go away for the weekend every couple of months and our dog goes to a dog sitter and we leave the cats with plenty of water and dried food. They have a cat flap but 2 of them don't really go out so I just make sure the litter trays are clean and have lots of litter in. I think for 1 or 2 nights it's fine.
I love my pets but I also am not going to let them stop me enjoying my lifeThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
OP - aside from the cat sitting issue, do you actually enjoy these trips away in the campervan? Are you a surfer or do you have to make your own entertainment while your OH surfs?Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0 -
I do think 5 weekends away in 7 months is a lot, it would be a lot for me. I don't find weekend trips away relaxing because you have so little time there you rush to visit places or do whatever you went there to do, then when you get back on Sunday you've got the laundry to do for Monday morning and there's no time to do the weekly housework so the house is dirty for the next week. The whole thing is a big rush and I feel like I haven't had a weekend at all.0

Life is far too short to worry about housework for a week!!

Maybe I'm a bad cat owner but my cat happily copes with many a long weekend away, we leave a several bowls of both food and water (to which we return mostly untouched but it makes me happier knowing she's got a lot) and we clean her tray before we go. She HATES being away from home (I put her on a plane when I emigrated and I'm sure she hasn't quite forgiven me).
I love weekends away, we love a weekend away camping, but that's OUR thing, this sounds like its just HIS thing, which is maybe more the problem..0
