Being on the phone is nothing, sometimes customers ring me half way though abusing their children/partners or even having a wee.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. I think that this is rude . If your phone rings , let it go to voicemail and ring back . However I have been guilty of listening to music on my iPod . Sometimes it is just that my hands aren't free to switch it off at the same time as getting money out of my bag but I do feel slightly guilty !
I just take out an earbud to show that I AM paying attention.I post on the board with my phone and auto-correct can make me look like a damn fool!:o0 -
You don't know what the phone call is how do you know it's not important0

"Erm... I think the crematorium will be taking care of all that."
This is very true. Even if a call is important you're not going to know until you answer. It could be a call like this. I cannot see the problem of not answering your phone or putting it to voicemail if the sounds could be annoying and then ringing back. If the call was important like a family member ringing with bad news they will answer if you call back 2 minutes later because they're obviously trying to get hold of you.
I cannot see why there is really a need to be chatting on a phone whilst trying to interact in another situation at the same time whether it be buying goods or something else. As pointed out above, the caller may also be annoyed that you'd be interacting with someone else whilst they're trying to talk to you.0 -
