Sainsburys assistant refuses to serve woman on her phone

    I deliver washing machines for my work.
    A couple of months back a woman would not stop talking on her phone while we were delivering.
    She pointed to the kitchen while still jabbering on to her friend on the phone.
    So we dumped it in the hall way and then left

    I think they were both rude. I understand WHY the cashier would have felt annoyed, but she should have been professional and got on with her job. She deserved a talking to from her boss for that. (no more than that though).

    Customer was clearly very rude though.

    I agree, but I'm not convinced the customer intended to be rude.

    1, Replace checkout operators with self-service checkouts - problem solved

    2, is this sub forum full of "Jeremy Clarksons" / Daily Mail types ?

    3, some people are fussy about which charities they donate to - I 'm a bit fussy about where I spend my money

    4, you still get the bag - reuse points if you abandon shopping at Sainsburys and Tesco - you didn't know that

  • I can remember reading about it somewhere. It was a response from Sainsburys where they were surprised as they got a lot of criticism for giving the customer £10 as on the whole it seems a large amount of the population does agree with the cashier.

    They responded fairly well saying they think the whole story has done some good encouraging debate on the use of mobile phones etc.
