Ha!! I think you are doing so exceptionally well! I though since no others were listed I was missing something but remember u mentioning the DFD in 2014.. You are my inspiration and remember 'Batten Down the Hatches' was your idea. So I am learning from you of great one. Especially to look down more..:-))..

Aww, i am very much feeling the love and support in this thread today!

Abundant - I too agree honestly is the best policy. I wouldnt want to date someone and unwittingly get them into a worse financial position or cause them stress. As for people you don't see - i have a 2 tier system - first i downgrade from present to card. Then in the next year they haven't reciprocated with a card or message for my equivalent event, then the year after they dont even get that!

Thrifty - i would've been put out too. My sister-in-law is currently 6 months pregnant and people are either wrapping her up in cotton wool or expecting things of her she can no longer do - both are equally infuriating her.

Today was a SFD for me, although i might be hit with an unexpected bill of £50 this month  I have today returned a £20 dress to new l00k and i *should* be ok for the other £30. Damn though, just as July was going so smoothly and i was thinking i might actually have money left over!

Just a quick one to say I am on 9 SFDs so far...

Not sure I want to admit my spends budget though! Food budget it still under, so my slightly revised target is to meet that (and not buy any more "stuff").

Morning all :) What a nice day it's going to be today! My supermarket run yesterday turned out not to be as expensive as I thought. My shopping list consisted of some food for the next few days and a printer. Also, I had to return some stuff and this is where the Siouxsie luck came in....

Alcohol is never on my shopping list, but I was camping a few weekends ago and decided I might fancy a little tipple so I bought 10 tins of pre-mixed cocktails. They were £1.90 each but 2 for £3 so I paid £15 in total. I drank one, didn't get round to drinking the others (party animal that I am!) so thought I'd take them back and see if I could get a refund. So, I show up with 9 tins and a receipt for £15 - the supermarket lady scanned one, saw it was £1.90, didn't count the tins and refunded me £19 :j

The printer I was after was £36, but there was one on offer for £25 so I took that instead and used the extra money towards paying off the uneven £17.96 off my credit card so it's a nice round £2100!

I didn't stay long in the supermarket as I didn't have a full list and won't shop without one, but I did venture down the yellow sticker aisle and picked up two avocados, two bananas, a lemon and some bread rolls for the huge sum of 92p :)

Off out for a picnic today and my friend's coming round in a few hours - I said I'd supply the food (he always feeds me when I go to his...it's definitely my turn!)...hasty morning supermarket visit planned to get supplies plus sunscreen! This will come from my misc budget and I'll update later.

So, after yesterday's mega spend, my figures look like...
    Foo: £0.92/£50
    Petrol: £50/£50
    Misc: £0/£50

    Enjoy your day everyone :D

    Good morning all

Had a busy, spendy weekend due to the sun and have come back to normality with a bump as hadn't realised I'd gone over my minutes and my phone bill is £14 more than expected :( Won't affect my budget as I'll just reduce the (meagre) amount I'm paying in to my savings, but still - annoying.

Have just meal planned for the week in the hope that I can have 4 SFDs in a row, lets see what happens...

Another busy weekend ahead as we are taking DS to the Mickey Mouse circus on Saturday (although got some £2 off vouchers from nursery this morning so will be £15 instead of £21) then to the Mr Bloom/CBeebies show on Sunday in Bolton. Will pack lunches but will need to pay petrol and ice creams!

Have a lovely day everyone xx

    Good morning.

SFD number 12 :T and in quite a good mood. The new Asda opened yesterday and OH wanted to have a look but I convinced him to wait till we actually need sth. So not him, must be getting old to get excited by a new supermarket ;)

Had a busy evening yesterday. Washing, dinner, OH did the dishes  (unexpected), baked a bread, started cutting down trees, killed a wasp nest in the attic etc. This no smoking and no coffee thing does me good I think :D. Feel more motivated to just keep going and do things (well to be honest otherwise I would fall asleep straight after work).

Booked a flight back home for me and the wee man to see the German grandparents just before christmas for a week but that's coming out of the savings so doesn't count as a spend. It's just me and him going to Berlin (£180) so it's cheaper than the three of us and hopefully my parents pick us up form the airport so we save a 3 hour train journey and another £70. I guess next year we don't have to go at all if my parents come to see the new arrival in March and come to our wedding in autumn (that reminds me better get that started :p)

:mad:Very annoyed with myself today, just been looking at my finances for the coming month (as I get paid on Friday) and I'd completely forgotten I'd used the other CC for the vets and the spa day totalling £144. This will mean I'll be short of paying all my CC debt by £8.50. I can easily adjust the weekly budgets to cover it but I'm annoyed I missed it as I thought I had an eye on my spending.

Off to sulk some more now :(
  • Morning all

Sorry I've been awol for a few days and now I'm just running through ~ haven't got time to catch up on the posts so I hope everyone's well and not too hot?!

DS1's 18th birthday meal was brilliant, it was great to catch up with everyone and I didn't have to buy the drinks as hubby said he would (fair enough as I paid for the meal!) so I am still under budget for spends.

Sat and Sun were sfd's. Mr Tresco sent me a £12 voucher so I did an online shop of £73.88. I shouldn't need any more shopping this week so hoping to get a lot of sfd's this week.

    Have a lovely day!

    xx
