Anyway the sun is shining and this week it should be easier and I shall be able to keep myself busy and distracted. Only 8 months to go (def the last time, can't wait for the wee one and hope nothing goes wrong but I just don't like being pregnant).
Sorry for the ramblings......;)
Don't you worry, I think you are right to be a tad put out! Particularly with the smoking. I am (hopefully) a fair way off having little ones of my own but it already infuriates me that we are obliged to change SO much and everyone seems to have an opinion on what you can and can't have and should or shouldn't do! Gets on my nerves almost as much as people saying (particularly when it comes from men) "we're pregnant". Going to stop the rant now before it really starts or I'll get a reputation on here as a very angry madam!
Hope you feel better soon, and that your OH comes to his senses!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Thanks, I try to think it's a men thing and their brains are differently wired anyway (could go on for hours, provides ample chat material amongs us girls in the office:rotfl:) as they're not physically preggo but then they shouldn't judge us for moaning because if changing these things were that easy no matter how much you wanted this baby then why not just join us for the next 8 months. Gonna suggest that next time
Last pregnancy OH said: at least I didn't drink much in the house. No but you were out every week or second (although he doesn't remember it that way lol)
Anyway, i better stop here too and go back to work and stuffing my face and enjoying the sun through the window.
Sorry didn't mean to offend present men
Oh and I hope to get 5 SFDs in a row from now till Friday. Might have to water the milk and again and bake bread.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Abundant..all good points.
I have learnt, belatedly but now certainly, that a level of honesty is whats needed.
I do not say we are in debt but say we are being careful, OH works in a business largely filled with freelancers and so it's inherently risky. I am also in a business massively affected by the recession. We have a large mortgage and kids. We like nice holidays. But basically I have started rationing ourselves and basically although we are still hugely social we end up meeting up at each others houses with wine rather than a restaurant meal..cutting back rather than becoming monk like...( appreciate this is completely different to your Sat eve lotti!:( Am talking generally!)..I make HM presents like sloe gin, I have cut out presents to people who I rarely see..they are often relieved not to have to reciprocate if I am honest. Basically I think twice about everything..
TA coffees are a killer. If you go anywhere by train use a BITE card. 20% off. Take your own packed lunch. And for staff meetings, club together for a coffee machine to keep in the office, or cafetiere and make your own! You will make your money back in days!

Abundant - I don't contribute to the "tea fund" any more. I don't buy drinks for anyone and tell them I can't afford it. I don't feel obliged to keep up with work colleagues when we go out so generally opt out altogher mainly cause I don't want to associate with them outside of work..:rotfl:As a tee-totaller I refuse to buy or replace alcoholic drinks so always buy for myself.
I can however see how the dating will be difficult. I think you need to be honest - you might waken him to hisbad spending habits and convince him a movie indoors and el' cheapo food is better long term. Hi all
Another NSD yesterday:) and nothing spent so far today. Ok in my head I've just spent £5000 - I'm looking for a new kitchen but at the moment it is window shopping and once I'm debt free then I'm putting my money to a savings pot for my new kitchen. A year down the line I will have that kitchen. I also need a new bathroom suite but 1 thing at a time. The kitchen is about 15 years + and the bathroom is about 20 years old.
I've very lucky in that most of my friends i have now are skint:) and know the value of a £1. When I lived in London we didn't have money but acted like we did:o. I'm going to a friends birthday on saturday and we are all bringing a bottle of fizz and some nibbles to the beach.
I'm taking my nephews & niece to the beach on friday and it will be another picnic on the beach - I'm hoping the weather holds up:D

I agree with Kat, Abundant.
I'm fortunate none of my close friends are flash with the cash so cheap nights in/out are the norm. Buying pressies for nephews & neices can be a bit tricky as both my sis and SIL don't pay any attention to money spent on the kids, whatever they want, they'll have regardless of cost. So they may want me to buy something slightly over my budget but I try to use vouchers to compromise.
Groceries: £250/£300
Fun: £3.70/£100
Debt paid: £310/£480 (+£62)
SFD: 8/20
Spent £70 on groceries on Saturday, a bit more than I'd planned but the fridge and freezer are jammed packed!
Yesterday was a SFDJust been enjoying the sunshine (sat in the shade most of the day, mind) in the garden this weekend, cheap & cheerful

Eh, hello  remember me?
So I failed in my everyday posting, but I have had a lovely MSE holiday and have been catching up with myself since I got back. I came back with money, thanks to my lovely mum filling my car with petrol before I set off for home. So, I came home with £50 cash but I need (actually, I do need it rather than want it) a new printer so I can use some of the money to buy one this afternoon.
Elsewhere, a bank error meant a payment I made to a credit card took a week longer than it should have to reach the account so I called and got £51 interest refundedThe man was so lovely and really put my case forward to his supervisor so I think I'll send a nice complimentary letter (When I get my new printer!!!)
Must do a supermarket run today - the cupboards are so bare and I'm hungry. Must make a list before I go though or I'll want to buy everything!
I've paid a chunk of money to my credit card and I've left just enough to last me the rest of the month so I'll be starting my budgets today til the end of the month (holidays complicate everything!). So, starting now, my budgets look like....
Food: 0/£50
Petrol: 0/£50
Misc: 0/£50
That'll all change later today, but I just thought I'd check in and say hello0 -
Siouxsie does that mean you only have £2117.96 to go and your debt free?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Now, I was going to :rotfl: but maybe I shouldinstead. When you started your 457 day challenge, I decided to break my debt down into two chunks and join you. The £2117.96 is what's left of this year's challenge (started in October/November? as £9107.25 and WILL be cleared by end of August though, 4 months ahead of schedule :j) and the remaining £20k was the second chunk that I was carrying forward to be my 2014 challenge  From September I will be attacking the £20k with as much gusto as we have over the last 9 months and it'll be cleared by December 2014, a mere year behind you oh inspirational leader
