    Why have i just found this thread!!

    Tell me there'll be an August thread??!

    Will be starting maternity leave half way through August, so will have lots of free time spent with dd, which can be very expensive.
    Luckily i have lots of tesco vouchers to use, and my ever expanding bump will probably get in the way of doing to much!!

    Good luck everyone, see u in a few weeks :)
    Actually i might join u as a lurker this month and see how i get on x
    Still here..... but working on that!

    Hi everyone!!!

    Am a little behind on my updates!!! I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!!!

    Thur = SFD number 7
    Fri = Spend Day £10.00
    Sat = Spend Day £8.08
    Sun = SFD number 8

    I was good today - resisted buying new t-shirts in town, I really wanted them, but didn't need them! I was with a friend and we were talking about debt etc - and I acknowledged that *when* I've cleared my debts I will have an extra £375-£500 a month to spend. *Then* I can buy t-shirts... and have holidays... and do all the nice things I am looking forward to doing... I just need to tackle how I can't keep eating out, and I don't want him to keep buying, because then I feel beholden to him. Grrrr.

    I am going to chill for the rest of Sunday and do nothing...

    Hello everyone, been mia just lately, but still working at my sfd and debt busting:)

    Been working all weekend, last day tomorrow for a couple of days so can get cooking and putting stuff into the freezer and sleeping I think:)

    Not much to say really, boring working life, dealing with awkward customers and a few funny ones as well, off to bed now up at 4am again, so nighty nite:)

  • Had a lovely sfd yesterday in the nice weather.

    We all went to a lovely country park for a long walk, duck feeding and picnic - followed by an hour in the kids park, and dh bought the ice creams, so my purse stayed in my bag (well, I made the picnic).

    Last week of term this week and ds last week at nursery. So after this week, no more double school run, and no more nursery fees (kids club should be a breeze after 8 years of paying for nursery).

    Off to visit a friend this morning who I've not seen for ages. Not sure what's planned but I am hoping for a sfd today as well. We'll see - that may be ambitious.

    Well a very good morning to you all! This weekend was TOUGH! Clearly didn't comment much during my work shift as I could barely keep my eyes open. Thankfully someone handed me a red bull and I survived to get home and sleep through some horrendous heat... puddy cat is having fun outside and I did'nt do much other than sunbathe a little and eat...

    No spendies over the weekend but I need to get a few essentials today so will trudge to the nearest supermarche to get some fresh goodies...

    This week looks like it is going to be glorious! With no OT for the rest of the month I am starting to panic. Perhaps I need to go out this Sunday and walk somewhere instead of staying in... somewhere free since I pay for my travelcard and it covers weekends...

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm my thinking cap is on!

    So how are we all... Seems quiet on here but I don't mind. You need to get out and get some Vitamin D into you and LittleSkintDragon August's thread will be up and running a few days before the first... but lets get through July first...lol!

    Right.. I have work to complete... apparently...

    Hello,

    sorry been AWOL again over the weekend as usual. Had a lovely time on the beach yesterday and had friends round for dinner on Saturday as agreed for food and a few drinks. Well I sipped on a small beer to keep up the pretence but OH chucked them down and was out smoking all the time. At some point I had enough and sneaked off and just went to my bed at 10. He came up later to check on me and didn't understand. Fair enough dinner and a few friends for a few drinks but not a drunken party. Why do we have to change our lives when we're pregnant and stop most things fun (including brie and pate not just the booze) and they carry on as if nothing has happened and are then in a huff with us for being moany. Ggrrrrrrr.....

    Anyway the sun is shining and this week it should be easier and I shall be able to keep myself busy and distracted. Only 8 months to go (def the last time, can't wait for the wee one and hope nothing goes wrong but I just don't like being pregnant).

    Sorry for the ramblings......;)

    Oh and on a side note, I didn't spend much money and got another SFD

    Lotti I need to know what you do now. What a fascintaing combination! I agree with you though. I work like a trooper! Interested in running my own free-holding etc some day though...;-)

    Sorry, was AWOL for the weekend (rather spendy :o not good).

    I work for an animal feed producer, in "operations support", basically learning the feed manufacturing trade at the moment! It is a little different to most of my friends' jobs... :rotfl:

    I do have thoughts of running my own farming/food based business one day, but right now I'm actually enjoying working for a big company!

    Morning :)

    After reading Thrifty's post... it got me thinking how (for me) one of the biggest hurdles that I've already touched on last week - is how difficult it can be to maintain friendships, when they are living a non MSE-lifestyle.

    I'd love to hear what some of you do or say to get around having to go out for lunch, or buy coffees at work, or go out drinking...

    I'm thinking honesty is the best policy. I can think of 3 examples in my life that currently could be improved upon:

    1) Birthdays. Whilst I have budgeted, I do give out to people that if I'm honest don't really appreciate it - and I give more out of a sense of duty... (i.e. Sister's Husband, ex-bf's children who I maybe see once or twice a year now)... Do I just switch to giving cards and not say anything... or say I'm trying to clear debts and until I have it'll just be a card!??

    2) Coffees at work. We have mini team meetings throughout the week, and my colleagues have taken to buying rounds of coffees which easily come to £5.00. Over the course of a month it's costing £20-25. I've decided to opt out after I've bought my next round, and just switch to having water.

    3) Dating!!! This is the trickiest. Seeing somebody new is hard. It's nothing too serious, but say we meet up 2-3 days a week. Sometimes it will be lunch out, coffees here and there, or if I go over he cooks something amazing. Now I don't want to not do anything or be scrimpy... but it's tricky. This weekend he did dinner, and then bought lunch and coffees... How does everyone else get around it? I'm thinking of just coming clean and saying, until I've paid off x, y and z... I'm going to be limited to cooking something at home once a week (no frills!) and I can only afford one meal out/wine a month. Reasonable?

    It's not easy embarking on and staying true to this path - and sometimes progress can seem incredibly slow... But - there is progression... and the pennies and pounds are coming off my debts bit by bit... Just need to stay focussed and determined!!!

    Have a lovely day all!!!
