  • Eek! Only have 2 no spend days left, not possible with the amount of days left, damn!
At least I have become much more aware of spending, writing on my spreadsheet each day I can see what Im up to much more clearly, but one day there was no loo roll, and the other day I had to get stamps to post something - things like that crop up all the time, especially kids school things/activities.
I have curbed the online purchases massively :)
I will try again next month and carry on being careful this month. Good luck to all!

Had a new aerial fitted yesterday so we can finally watch freeview and cancel Virgin. It cost £187.20 though . Thought after OH finished his car loan, got the PPI money and will save on Virgin he'd pay it. No. Got asked: So am I expected just to pay that, or did we have money put aside for that? In my hormonal state not a good question. Obviously couldn't think of the points above so I transferred him the amount down to the penny.

  • Congratulations on your good news Thrifty (baby news rather than expensive tv aerial).
I'm definitely staying in and having a sfd today. I'm so skint. Whilst being off work is doing me good health wise, it's not so great for bank accounts.

  • SFD again today - that would be 5 in a row - dont think I have ever managed that before! DD got her school report - without droning on like a mad old bat lets just say I am one proud mummy! This may however not last as I had the one direction album stashed as a reward (bought cheap at tesc0)- this played on repeat for the whole summer hols may well send me over the edge!:rotfl:

The school show lasted for nearly 2 hours last night - its my turn to sit through it tonight - might take the kindle or a bottle of wine ;)

Due to logistics DH is working from home today - cant do assembly, swimming lesson, feed the tea and school show flying solo - its just not possible!

Thrifty please feel free to tell me to mind my own but the aerial thing doesnt seem fair. Is it worth going back and asking about a 50:50 split or something. You know best and hormones are probably already doing the emotional roller coaster thing but calmly having your say even if you dont get some money back means at least your point has been acknowledged. (butting out now)

Right work to do - Cornwall tomorrow so will be off the radar for the next 4 days. Love to all LAGL xxx

    Groceries: £180/£300
    Fun: £3.70/£100
    Debt paid: £310/£480 (+£62)
    SFD: 5/20

Yesterday was a no spend day but today I've ordered some feliway online (on the CC) and i'm goign to buy Harley a harness and lead because he really wants to go out and wander but I think he's to ikkle for that yet! This a compromise.

ETA: spent £22 (on CC) at pet shop. Also bought a chew toy and walkies toy for dad's dog who we're dogsitting from tonight for 2 weeks and some cat litter to save a trip next week.

He suggested 50:50 in the end but in my hormonal twisted mind I thought transferring the exact amount down to the penny would make a point whereas now with hindsight that was silly especially as men don't do hints. Never mind just take it out of our savings (which are under my control)

Oooh expensive aerial. Might have to put him on constant 9 month nappy changing duties as "pay back" But obviously not tell him just conveniantly be busy..okay I know that doesn't work with babies and men and him being at work all day but it's always worth a shot...

I am boring today - nowt much to report my end although I scored £15 off a very unexpected eBay sell. Suits me fine! Sun is shining, I finish at 1500 and my bike is back and EXTRA SHINY!!!

Playing some jiggery pokkery with my August spreadsheet. The LLL has offered to take me to the airport for my stupidly early flight on the 30th (gotta be there at 0500) so a few pennies are saved there, a sleep in the airport is avoided and I shall donate £10 to the LLL for her petrol..

This healthy eating is getting expensive though... vegetables and fruit are more than junk food - understand this etc etc... but there are little extra's I [STRIKE]want[/STRIKE]need....hemp seed / pecans / ground flax / coconut oil...hmmmm I shall get there in the end with super easy vegan yummies... I am of the mind that spending on good healthy food now with enough nutrients will prevent illnesses later in life and allow me to live until I am 100...;- )

Right - off to look at seed germinator/sprouter thingys...

    Onwards!!!!

Good morning everyone! I went a little bit over budget yesterday as I bought two cases of beer whilst doing my Mr T shop. The OH really wanted some beer and he has been so good to put up with me, I managed to get 24 bottles for £15 so I was pleased. This pushed my weeks shopping up to £39, so still not bad. I am still sticking to my budgets and SFD's, it's getting very addictive now. I've even taking to parking my car on the road and not in the car park to save on parking costs (although I could get that cost back from work if I really wanted) it saves the business a bit of money too!

Today should be a SFD as I haven't got to get anything, this will be my 8th SFD. Very pleased with myself!

I also got the Next invitation thingy, but having just had a birthday where I got bought quite a few nice clothes I am not feeling like I need to visit!

Hope everyone has a good and thrifty day!
    October make £10/day currently £11.02

He's more than welcome to do DS nappies just now (although we'll attempt the toilet training in August when we're both off). And ahem I do work too. Maternity leave is ages away.
The aerial was dear but worth it in the end as we'll be saving money as we'll have no more fancy telly and cheaper broadband, phone at the same time.
