Claree - Hope you are ok and they are just keeping you in as a precaution. No surprise that you're swelling in this heat. Hope you get to go home tomorrow.
MV - Hugs. Only a few more weeks left. Can you take DS to a soft play with a cafe so that you can sit there whilst he runs around with fear of escaping! I took DD to the last playgroup of the summer this morning, and it was lovely just sitting there chatting whilst she ran about. She's having a nap now, so plans for this afternoon will be playing with the outdoor tap as in her eyes, it's the best thing ever! Might involve some more sitting down for me!

afternoon everyone,
Clare - thats a bit of a pain not being told anything, at least theyre taking it seriously and making 100% sure ur ok, sit back and enjoy ur enforced rest! (and the air conditioning!)
MV - i cant even think how tired id be compared to now running after a toddler as well, this heats enough to knock me out itself! hope you get to have a bit of a rest at some point.
Hope everyones feeling ok and managing(ish) in this heat! its freezing in our office, the air con is in overdrive, but i know its going to make it all the worse when i walk out the door at 5 and get into my oven/car for the 30 min drive home....ick
worried im not going to be able to drive by the time i get to 30-35 weeks, my legs are short and my bump is getting bigger, pretty soon itll be hitting the steering wheel and my feet wont reach the pedals (the things I worry about!).

Trina.. my sister managed.. she was immense and at 5ft nothing struggles to reach the pedals at the best of time.. she used a muslin square over her bump though otherwise the steering wheel left a filthy smile shape on her tum.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Claree sorry you are in hospital, hope they let you out again very soon but definitely the best place to be if they want to keep an eye on you.
Miffy there isn't a sof tplay terribly near me. There is one at a sports hall not too far away, but they don't have a cafe there so I'd just be on my feet for an hour there and it get's quite hot in there.
We ended up going to the park for a little while. We fed the ducks and DS spotted aeroplanes (one of his current obsessions!), he had a lollipop and then we came home. Not the greatest day out but he got to run about a bit and I sat under an umbrella for 10 mins at the cafe!
Thank god he still sleeps for a couple of hours after lunch. I practically passed out and didn't wake up again until I could hear him. Went into the garden and filled the paddling pool, but DS has a phobia about flies at the moment (!) so we were only outside for about 20mins!
so it's going to be puzzles indoors and tv now until dinner. I think us preggy mums just have to get by the best we can.

MV.. I kick them out in the garden and ignore them..
TBH the older ones entertain themselves and the younger 3 entertain the little 2.. My 12 y/o is running around chasing the 2 littlies who are squealing and shrieking. I physically cannot go to the park at the moment.. I can't stand for long and I can't walk far... I'm just glad it is the last day of school tomorrow so I have no more school runs until September!!! OH and I have discussed it (read I told him!) he is doing morning runs and lunch time pick up and I'll do 3:15 pick ups.. until he finds work..
.. I need the time without him here to clean and tidy and fling!

Our garden is so child-unfriendly
We live in a top floor maisonette, which does have it's own private garden (rare for London!), but to access it you have to go down a really steep flight of stairs in the kitchen which are pretty perilous for adults, let alone wobbly preggo's and toddlers!
It's also all on different levels with lots of concretey bits to fall down and smash your teeth out! It's perfect for a grown up couple with no kids, but pants now!
I wish I had a house and a garden I could just let him out into to run about. It's such a faff to get out there ans then often he is bored within 10 mins so we have to carry everything back up the steep flight!
Sorry..I am aware I am having a right whinge!
Just so hot today...Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
PP - thats interesting, i was more i never thought of that! im more wondering about the safety aspect of having my bump pressed into the streering wheel, anyway, thats another thought for another day!
its faaar too hot today, and if my neighbours dont stop slamming their door shut and opening it again only to slam it again im gonna go out there and remove the dam thing!
o well, only a few weeks until we move to our new house, then i wont have to worry about it...though that doesnt help just now!

My sis drove very short distances.. the longest journey was to my house and that is a whole 5 minutes away.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

I have barely moved off the sofa today - feel very huge and lazy! I'm very glad the girls are up a bit and can run around the garden by themselves.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0

Sorry to hear you're in hospital Claree, hope you're out soon.
Had my first appointment with the diabetes midwife today, which was fine but quite rushed. Also saw the dietician, didn't really tell me anything I hadn't already worked out from some judicious googling.
I think I need to hit Asda and buy some maxi dresses. This weather is killing me.0
