Morning all, been up since 6am today, haven't been able to sleep well all night but don't know why - think I may be very tired later!

Got MW this afternoon, hoping she will do stretch and sweep for me

Pay day today so having to occupy myself so not to do too much internet shopping!

    Hope everyone is ok

Good luck for your sweep nikki! I had mine yesterday and baby is 3/5engaged and im 1cm dilated. Have got another one next Wednesday at the hospital if no sign of baby before then. I feel your pain re sleep, had an awful night last night and was up twice at the loo!

Morning all. Good luck NickiAnn, hope baby doesn't keep you waiting too long.

Have just heard about this on Lorraine:
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2349111/Bikini-wax-spray-tan-blow-dry--The-women-makeovers-GIVE-BIRTH.html

Mums who have waxing, hard done, nails done etc before giving birth. Any of you bothering with any of this?

I'll definitely be having a bikini wax and will try and get my hair freshly washed, but seeing as I won't know the exact arrival time of little one I'm not sure it'll all last!

Morning! Crap sleep here too, but no surprise there. haven't had a good sleep in weeks. I get such bad pains at night - starts just below my bum and goes all the way down the outside of my thighs :(

Can't believe u guys are having sweeps already. We were sort of advised against having one at 40weeks. Just her opinion, but MW at antenatal class said that only 50% of them work anyway and as term is between 37 and 42 weeks, baby just might not be ready yet. She said in her experience it can lead to a longer first stage labour and she would advise waiting until we were at least a week overdue. Obviously she said it was up to us though.

I'm off to MW today too. More bloods :( but at least it's the last one until after the birth!

Will be trying to keep legs and bikini line as tidy as possible, hopefully have a nice pedicure as friends are taking me for a spa day a few weeks before but apart from that i cant imagine i will do much else!

I'm banning photos being taken of me until I've recovered somewhat. The only person that needs to see me in that state will be my other half and the doctors/MWs. Although, I also wouldn't want photos of the LO until they were all cleaned up anyway. I think the last thing on my mind will be whether my hair is looking ok :)

My consultant was the one who advised a sweep at 39 weeks but when community MW read it in my notes she didn't seem so keen on doing it and said there is no point unless your body is ready so I don't actually know if she will do it or not but am taking OH with me just in case!

Oh god no! Can't be bothered with all that! :rotfl:

I have had my roots done, but only because I know i won't have time to do them after baby is here. I will probably try to wash my hair and maybe shave my legs, but that's it. I'll bring a hairbrush to hospital so I can at least brush my hair or get OH to brush it before pics. I was reading on a babycentre thread that someone was taking her makeup and perfume! I was thinking: when exactly do u think u'll have time to do ur makeup? U should be spending time cuddling and marvelling at your gorgeous baby! And ur not even supposed to wear perfume with a newborn! Lol! Each to their own though. I just think there's plenty of time for glamorous pics after ur home and settled. If ur getting pampered as a treat to urself then I'm all for it, but to do it just for the birth to me is crazy. I partly blame social networking - it has brought out so much vanity in a lot of people! Don't get me started on 'selfies'! :rotfl:

God you lot talk a lot :rotfl: Logged off at about 3pm yesterday and had 3 pages to read this morning!

Back to work unfortunately - my boss is off for a fortnight though so bit more relaxed and when he's back it's my last week :D

NoAngel I'm attempting to be as "nice" as possible for when I go into hospital - I'll have a bikini wax and hopefully my toes done (My feet are awful enough without horrible toenails!) but I won't be having a spray tan and all that lark - what's the point?!
