Anderson, I haven't any advice or experience but wondered if baby has moved position and that's causing the extra? It certainly makes a hell of a difference for me personally. Good they've got you in for a scan, its just the worry till you get to that point, only thing I can say is just remember its all averages but we are all different. Fingers crossed all is ok, and you can have the birth you want Xx

Tbh I am changing my name. My mum is one of those 'I want an unusal name' people and I absoulty hate it. I am doing home studying for a career change so the plan is to change my name when I go on M/L hopefully won't have to go back to work so when I start applying for new jobs I can use my new normal name... and if people like family want to use my old name thats thier choice i am not going to push it on anyone but same time I feel like it holds me back.

+ No one seems to be able to say it the first time round its the most annoying thing, plus if I say it on the phone people tend to get it wrong.. and everyone asks me if its foreign idk
People don't know what they want until you show them.

That's very true, hopefully they will be able to put your mind at rest later, or atleast you will know either way. Do update us though!

Have you read the birth stories on here? I found they helped me get an idea what I was in for. I've also just updated mine 4 months on!

    Morning all,

    Congratulations on the new arrivals.

We have nearly finished painting the nursery ready for the furniture to arrive on Saturday. Had a bit of a nightmare painting the windowsill on the weekend as the paint was sooo thick. It is now cooling in the fridge as the job I did was rejected by DH.

Can someone please post the Birth stories link up for me. I'm having trouble finding it. Thanks

I was big with DS2 and even though I asked they wouldn't scan me.

Ended up having a 'successful' vbac but in all honesty if they had scanned me and told me he would be a larger baby I think I would have had a caesarean. Because of what happened I ended up in theatre with a spinal anyway and all the hassle of a section (catheter, drip etc) with the added bonus of a badly damaged foof. DS2 shoulder also got stuck on the way out.

I don't mean to scaremonger as lots and lots of women give birth to large babies with no problems at all (my auntie had a 10lb 6 baby who just breezed out) but large babies can also lead to complications.

As with everything it's down to personal choice and you can never predict what will happen, I took a gamble and unfortunately in hindsight it was the wrong decision for me and baby, but nobody has a crystal ball. For lots of women vbacs are successful and it is the right choice.

I know how you feel with regards to vbacs as like so many women I felt a failure for not giving birth naturally the first time and wanted to experience that magical moment after giving birth that everybody talks about. To be perfectly honest though that 'magical' moment ended up not being so magical because I was pretty traumatised. In hindsight although DS1 was born in theatre I was in a much better position to take it all in and enjoy the moment. What I'm saying is don't feel too disappointed if you can't have your vbac. As the grass isn't always greener!
  • Congratulations to all the new mums :) Hope you are all well.

I had the bright idea that i might like to have a huge clear out of the house during this lovely weather we are having. How faffy are freecycle pages on social networking sites :( im giving items away it should be easy but nope 99 rules plus 1000 more. I gave up and went back to the yahoo group. Its a pain waiting for emails but less blinking hassle.
On the plus sided i got rid of 6 black sacks of books.
Making room to fit the baby in is tiring yet im still not sleeping properly my feet feel like they are on fire most of the night.

Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

I actually had quite a good experience with my section with ds, I was glad to have him after 44 hours of labour!
I was hoping for a vbac but as long as me and bubs are healthy then that's the main thing.
Your vbac sounds traumatic. Will see what they say at the scan today, ultimately they are the professionals so will be doing what they say!
