TTC40 prams totally baffled me and my partner, as did car seats so we just signed up for the £1 trial to which! found the best rated, tried them out and bought them!

I knew I didn't really want a designer pram as the £1000 they can cost up to would buy all my baby things. We've also done a fair bit with the house and I wanted to ensure my car and overdraft was paid off before my maternity leave started! In the end we got a Mamas and Papas Sola from their outlet shop for £140 so better than I could have ever anticipated!

Just bought the softest and nicest baby pram blankets ever from Kiddicare whom I'm loving at the moment which leads me to the question...anyone bothering with a foot muff?

Think I'm going to get a foot muff as baby will be tiny over winter (if that makes sense). I never used one with DS2 as he was a may baby but do remember using it with DS1 who was a September baby. They just make them that bit more snuggly in those winter months!

To be fair I already have about three foot muffs from previous prams, which I should be sensible and use rather than buying new, but the snob in me wants a nice new matching one!

Re. Names. This is my one main bugbear during pregnancy, learnt my lesson with DS1 and have never disclosed name choices since!

I'm not really that bothered about people touching my bump or commenting on my size (although this has annoyed me a little more this pregnancy), but it really riles me when you tell people a name choice and they either comment or you can just tell by the face they pull they don't like it. It's funny how once the baby's been born and named people wouldn't comment on name choice (to your face) as it would be rude, but for some reason when pregnant it's fair game!

I've used foot muffs until mine have come out of the pushchair at about 2.5/3ish .. it is freezing just sat in the pushchair and blankets are useless... they fall off and get dirty.

I got 2 terrainhaus footmuffs off ebay at £5 each.. now is a very good time to buy them and the terrainhaus ones are the very best you can get .. they last up to about 3 years of age and are over £100 new!

OH and I have still not discussed names.. 33 weeks and counting!

    Congrats lovecake!

Re names - I gave up running any past my folks/OH's folks ages ago. My mum always pulls a face whatever I mention. She has a handful she liikes (dull, common as in overly popular names), anything else she doesn't like.

We have 2 names in the running for our girlie. One everyone will like as it is classic, and one that isn't and will probably wrinkle noses..I don't care though. My baby, my choice! :D

Took DS to see In the Night garden Live today. He loved it, but I am utterly shattered..this weekend has been full on and I feel like we've had no rest at all.

Can't wait for the alarm to go off at 6am tomorrow so I can haul ar5e off to work again! Only 6 more working days left though, and I'm thinking of taking my last 2 holiday days during those as I am so exhausted.

TTC40 just wrote a long reply to your question re: footmuffs and then accidentally closed window so a quick one, basically yes a footmuff is well worth it, blankets fall off, footmuffs are quick to zip up and you can zip the front off so you have a nice prams liner in warmer weather .
If the one sold to match your pram doesn't inspire you, John Lewis do a lovely colourful range which are actually cheaper than e.g. a maclaren one. (i bought maclaren one to match my buggy off ebay but two of my friends had John Lewis ones and they are lovely- colourful and cosy)

Re names: people keep asking, we haven't decided but even if we had we wouldn't tell- gotta have something to announce on the day ;)
Touching my bump, nobody has tried this time except DH of course. As long as it was friend or family I wouldn't be bothered tho. Comments don't really bother me either, its just people's way of showing interest.

Whooping cough- yes incidences have increased. I will have the vaccine, my brother had whooping cough at 3 months old in the 70s and was really poorly. Some people still get the symptoms after vaccination but its usually not as severe.

    Ooo and congratulations lovecake!

I told one person the names i liked, and they completely slated the lot! Needless to say, i've not told anyone else.....

Dd's name is very welsh, so i need something welsh that matches it, the lady i told didnt speak welsh so to her the names id chosen sounded odd. I like things that are slightly more unusual. I remember my father making a joke of the name i chose for dd, but i still used it.

My mother keeps asking about names, but i wot tell her because she couldnt keep quiet about the fact that i was pg in the first place, plus if i like something i may use it for baby 3 if there is one!

Footmuff: i would say definately buy one, i bought the matching one this time, but last time had a cheapy which was just as lovely, but well worth it, for at least this winter and next x

I want baby here so I have some energy to return my house to normal :(

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:That's what I thought....but my house is in a worse state now that baby is here! I have muslins literally EVERYWHERE and everything is covered with drops of milk! Baby toys are everywhere....but the good news is that I am now too knackered to care!:D

Morning ladies, yet another stupidly hot sleepless night here. I am exhausted. Hope everyone else is coping better with the heat, even took an ice pack to bed last night!!

Hi dida! Nice to 'see' you! Is all going ok?

Re footmuffs, would definitely get one! And re names just go with what you like, that said I didn't like dds or dss to start with and certainly don't have one i like for this one but dh does so will prob come down to him again!
