Yeah its about 29!! Couldn't sleep last night was way too hot, was hoping it would be better tonight but dont think it will be, going to take an ice pack to bed! Have lost count of how many ice lollies ive eaten!! Feel like I shouldnt complain though, it is nice to have sunshine, hopefully it lasts for kids summer holidays, although maybe a tiny bit cooler!
You will soon be where I am, it flies by so fast!!0 -
Wow errrr im in the teens! Amazing...
I would post more as I have some replies but I'm sulking. Apparently breaking the header tank, fixing the header tank and doing three loads of washing makes my partner some sort of god.
In the meanwhile he has trashed my kitchen floor, trashed the bathroom floor, spilt soap in the sink, washed mud in the sink and piled said washing on the sofa. Great.
I want baby here so I have some energy to return my house to normalIf you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Ha ha Helen, I feel your pain, they try so hard and are so proud of themselves for doing 'normal' things even when they only half do them and trash other stuff in the process. Still better than not bothering at all i guess. My DH is home all next week, my house will be trashed, have got a list of supervised jobs for him though, hes only doing them as im not allowed apparently, bless him!!0

OK, so I'm sitting here in tears over something ridulous which is most unlike me.
Had parents & friends over this afternoon & my Mum let something out linked to our 'favourite' boys name which I had told my parents but no-one else. Oh, no-one knew apart from my brother & SIL who my mum told the other day whilst I was sat there.
This triggered one of the couple to say 'that's a nice name' & the other to say I don't like it.
I couldn't say anything as it would have just brought too much attention to it & she didn't say it in the context of it being a name we were going to chose - but clearly it was emphasised enough for the couple to comment on it.
We have decided not to tell people names to avoid this type of 'I don't like that' comment.
I am really annoyed. I just wonder who else she has discussed it with.
Rant over, need to get over myself as worse things happen - but I am really p'd off! If I didn't really like the name I would be crossing it off the list now!0 -
Just ignore the negative comment. My kids are all late teens and early twenties now (I lurk because Im a retired midwife - due to ill health and i really miss it) and I named them all old fashioned names that were not very vogue at the time - very in now though. My mother really complained but I ignored her and all my children suit their names and love them.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

After my mother in law saying she didn't like one of the names on our list we decided not to tell anyone else any of the names we liked.
It was fairly early on when we mentioned this name, she quickly said she didn't like it, but the look on her face when my hubby said it was actually our favourite was priceless :rotfl:
It hasn't put us off though, it's still our #1 choice.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Re names: as people know we are team blue they are constantly telling us their favourite names which are mostly ok but not for us. They then ask what I like but I don't really want to tell them our top 5 as I don't want their opinion! I'm tempted to start calling bump "Herbert" or something so people assume that's what we've decided on lol and stop asking! I made the mistake of telling my mom and sisters what I wanted to call dd1 and they put me off so I went with what I had chosen for her middle name. Always regretted it until our son (according to 20wk scan) was actually born a girl and we quickly had to pick a girls name! XDD1 June 1997

Congratulations Lovecake, love the name! Glad you're both ok and looking forward to hearing your birth story especially as I am tempted with a pool birth. XxDD1 June 1997
