I've had quite a few prams/pushchairs and by far the worst was the silver cross 3d.

My favourites so far have been my petite star zia for a small compact buggy, and my mamas and papas nuna stroller (I think the Luna is the new version) for ease of pushing with one hand (if you have a young child as well as baby to take care of) which is why I've gone with a mamas and papas pram with this one.

It's all down to what you personally want from a pram e.g. Does it need to fit into a small boot, will you be walking long distances or mainly flitting round the shops, do you want the option to have baby facing you etc.

Good to know the cabrio has a good safety rating, that's the car seat we went for, but in the denim effect :)

    Hi everyone,

Where did you get your dresses from pigpen?

Im a short bum so i would have to look for a petite maxi but not sure if I should then go for a maternity maxi or just by a bigger size than normal for the moment?
Anyone else seen any nice comfy dresses that would fit an expanding tummy?

Also are people going ahead and having the whooping cough vaccine? Midwife mentioned it when I saw her last but im not sure what to do, I take medication for my epilepsy so dont really want to give baby any more than she would have but am worried about her getting the whooping cough if I dont... has there really been an increase in whooping cough in babies?

simply be ... they are really comfy. I'm 5ft 3 so not quite a giraffe ;)

My vaccinated daughter contracted whooping cough in June last year 3 weeks before he baby arrived. He spent almost 2 weeks in hospital with whooping cough when he was a few weeks old. There does seem to be a small increase BUT the bacteria are actually becoming more resistant to the vaccine which is very very old now and hasn't been updated at all and it is also responding less well to the antibiotics.

So, it is up to you whether you have the vaccine or not.

  • I thought it was a fairly new vaccine (the whooping cough one) I thought it was changed when they changed the baby vaccines to the 5 in 1.
Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

no they just added the old one to the mix it hasn't been updated in about 30 years since it was discovered it was causing unpleasant side effects.

What a coincidence - I'm a Romford girl myself too! Moved to Southend a few years ago with my hubby before we got married!

Wow! So, I must ask, which do you prefer? Romford or Southend? Am I going to be okay in Southend? ;)

Thanks for the feedback re prams etc.

I think I will have the whooping cough vacine.

OH felt baby move for the first time last night :j. The baby was being a fidget & I was laid in bed. Didn't look to check if you could 'see' anything. Got friends coming later for lunch with their 10 & 7 year olds. If I tell the 7 year old (boy) he will spend the afternoon with his hands on my tummy just in case as he's a bit fascinated!
