I'm hoping so Faerie! Going to call tomorrow and see what they can do. Bf is away for so many days in January and wants to get to as many appointments as possible but now they are doing Wednesday and Friday appointments I'm going to try and get a Friday one in the next 3 weeks

Yes they must have to squeeze you in as if your 28 week appt got push back the 6 weeks you'd mentioned, you'd also have missed the 31 week one and be ready for your 34 week one by then!

The appts are pretty quick so don't see why they should have such a problem, I mean it's only blood pressure, testing your pee & measuring and heart beat. I didn't check the time when I came out yesterday but if you have no problems surely that could be done in 10 mins.

My 31 week is with the gp so wondering if ill have a 3rd person measuring me!
  • Thanks for the support re getting another appointment! I would be 34wks the week of that appointment so I am going to call the surgery and ask for one on the 10th Jan. They only do Wednesdays and Fridays at our GP surgery. I will keep the one in Feb booked as I will need it by then anyway!

Struggling with breathlessness today. Just climbing the two flights of stairs up to my office at work took it out of me so now I'm putting off doing them again to get a cup of tea!

Re baby wearing; as bf is a wheelchair user we have a more 'traditional' baby carrier for him to use after the first few months. It will be a great way for him to have some independence with bubs and still do almost everything :) we went for a baby bjorn one. We tried him with every one in Kiddicare expecting to end up needing the most expensive one but instead the cheapest one worked best!

Kynthia - baby can go into a grobag (0-6 months) when they are 8lb 8. Before that (if baby is not that weight from birth) we are going to use the groswaddle unless baby hates it x
First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14 :D
  • Has anyone seen some good deals on groswaddles/similar? I really want a few (probs 3/4) for the early days before we pop her in a sleeping bag (which we only have one of atm so need a couple more of those too!) but I haven't really seen many/any at a reasonable price yet - probably should have got a couple from Mothercare when they had 20% off!

Got the appointment sorted - 10th Jan now :) Phew!

Thanks. Sometimes you don't even realise you don't know something for sure! Hubbie asked the other men at the NCT class if there was a For Dummies book or Haynes Manual for babies. :D

Lush amazon regularly has them reduced. I got one from kiddicare for £7 & one brand new from eBay for 99p.

Kynthia I am also clueless & a bit worried! Hoping antenatal classes will help!

I only started looking last night but bought a couple off eBay for £5 each with free postage. However Asda might also sell them for £5, whereas Monthercare was about £8 each. Mamas & Papas had a beautiful multicoloured one that was over £35!!!!!
