Morning everyone - thank you for all your kind wishes. I am still here, thinking, wow I am going to have a daughter! I kept all my dolls house bits from when I was younger and some other toys and it will be lovely to share those with her when she is older. :j:j:j:j:j

lushlifesaver - glad you have an earlier appointment its a long time to wait to the othe appointment.

I don't have my next appointment now until 28 weeks but the Midwife did say that I can come at 24 weeks as its too long for most to wait. I do feel like my iron levels have dropped again as I have the funny taste in my mouth again and I am tired a lot.

mincepiemonster - will look up the link you said for a sling thank you :)

Mrs_T_M - I would 2nd a pram as well as a sling but as mincepiemonster said - I am sure people disagree with that! I do hope your coughing has calmed.

cllola - I hope married life is good - I am ever hopeful I will get a ring one day!

kerri_dfw - nearly there - hopefully the contractions will return and stay. My friend had a stretch and sweep yesterday and they started and have stopped but she was advised that might happen.

TeamLowe - talking cats you have reminded me I will need a top, some kind of protector for the cat as she loves sleeping on beds and might be attracted to the cot as well!

Rummer - sorry you didn't sleep. Hope you get some bits done and can have a cat nap!:D

bigzippy - yes please to adding me to the list! I am due 18/05/2014 :) thanks:)

firefly369 - 1hr and half drive to the hospital  I hope the trial runs go ok - I would be in the car fast!

RobotsinDisguse - only you know if you want the test - I do hope it goes well and the results are conclusive.

Kynthia- I hate loosing bargains too - I am going to start buying bits now :)

fireyfirenze - I was crying when the lady told me - I was so nervous :) apart from the longer morning sickness spell - that was the only thing that was different from my pregnancy with DS.

Hope everyone has a good day - I am back to reviewing my essays for my hand in on the 6th January!

    :)

I only started looking last night but bought a couple off eBay for £5 each with free postage. However Asda might also sell them for £5, whereas Monthercare was about £8 each. Mamas & Papas had a beautiful multicoloured one that was over £35!!!!!

Thanks , I will check eBay out.

Where have you all found the best place to buy cellular blankets ? Would like to get 3 just now then some more when baby's here ( and I can have pink/blue)

I got mine from Aldi when they had a baby event for about £1.50, they had muslin squares for cheap too, might be worth checking out if there's one near you

    Lol I can't believe there's a book!

Hubby's sister bought him this when she found out we were pg. he hadn't read it all yet - some of its tongue in cheek and some of it quite serious, I think it will be quite useful, however be warned if anyone gets this for their other half it has some pretty graphic images in it!!
  • Babywearing - I should have said that we ALSO have a travel system! I hope to take bubs in a sling if I'm heading out without luggage, e.g. for coffee, to pick up bread and milk, but I will not have a car, so will take the pram if I'm doing bigger shopping as I would probably struggle with a 20 minute walk carrying baby plus all the food. Also, if it is pouring with rain etc I think he'd be better off in a pram with a rain cover since my waterproof coats will not zip up around both of us. You can buy babywearing coats but they are darned expensive for a decent waterproof one so I shall not be investing!

Cellular blankets - I bought some in Aldi in the last baby event super cheap... but our local shop still had some left last time I went in just before xmas, as well as a load of other other baby event stock. May be worth a look if they still have a few left over in your local store. I also bulk-bought muslins here. They were the same price as the cheapest I could find anywhere online, but they had cute patterns instead of just being plain white.

ellie - if you fit, could you use your OH's waterproof instead of your own for babywearing? I've been pinching my OH's when I go out to cover both me and the bump.

I am now convinced that bouncing on the gym ball is something invented by husbands/OH's to keep their grumpy pregnant spouses amused. Or just for them to snortle at whilst they bounce up and down. The MIL has just sent a text to say she's thinking of us...the first of the "have you had it yet" texts I fear....grumble grumble, I'm not even overdue I'd just rather my body was doing nothing than all this teasing. Another upset tum today too grrr.

Kynthia - baby can go into a grobag (0-6 months) when they are 8lb 8. Before that (if baby is not that weight from birth) we are going to use the groswaddle unless baby hates it x

Glad you guys mentioned this as I thought they could go in from any weight and I can't see my baby being 8lb 8 so I better get some thing else too as I was only buying gro bags!
Has anyone seen some good deals on groswaddles/similar? I really want a few (probs 3/4) for the early days before we pop her in a sleeping bag (which we only have one of atm so need a couple more of those too!) but I haven't really seen many/any at a reasonable price yet - probably should have got a couple from Mothercare when they had 20% off!

Got the appointment sorted - 10th Jan now :) Phew!

    Glad you got it sorted!

I got a new one off a shop seller on eBay for way cheaper than I'd seen anywhere else, also found one in a gap sale and one I'm planning on getting in john Lewis with a voucher I have. I've got a 0.5 tog, a 2.5 tog and the john Lewis one is a 1 tog - so I'm prepared for all temperatures lol

I asked the same question a while back so if you scroll back Becca and some other people posted some good links of offers.

If you're not bothered about the brand( the real 'grobag' one you can buy them in asda or supermarkets for quite cheap etc

I got a lovely M&p one in their sale reduced to £18. The women at the till were cooing over it lol!

I was just sat at the laptop down stairs after having my breakfast when I came over feeling a bit faint so now lying in bed where was my phone as I can be a bit prone fainting wise so think I'll carry it round the house with me in case I need to call someone. Just did the obligatory google search & apparently it's common in the 3rd trimester! Great. I had my blood pressure taken yesterday & it was fine so think I need to up my fluid levels. Just feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment.

I used a moby wrap for DD1. I got on with it well, but it is quite warm (not a problem for winter!)

That is not a bad idea but if it is raining he is likely to have worn it to go to work! He does have an old one but it is not breathable and is like wearing a binbag... a khaki green binbag. Good look!

<Wanders off to look at what on earth a groswaddle is, hoping this is not essential as we have not bought any...>
