Yeah thats what Im thinking, DH or my Mum or Dad would get stuff or I can order things.

I really need to lay out all the stuff Ive bought and maybe write a list. So far Ive been ordering stuff I think looks cute, putting it in bags which DH puts in the loft and so now I cant really remember!

Our hospital is near the centre too and we live only a mile from another town with an M&Co and Sainsburys here has clothes - Tesco annoyingly took all their clothes out of our local store.

Im also deliberating what to get for a going home outfit, style wise really as I guess Ill get newborn for that.

This is our job for tomorrow.. Get all the clothes out to see what we've got & what we need!!

For a going home outfit, we are having a 'Guess how much I love you' sleep suit with matching hat & a snowsuit over the top that we got in the Gap sale :)

Omg I was thinking the same thing!

Cant believe you got it in the Gap sale! Ive seen it in M&Co - was just looking at it on their website now in the hope it might have been in the sale but its not.

i think Ive seen matching toys in Tesco..

Evening all, just back from another 5 mile walk. This time we went down the cycle track and back again, stopping off 1/2 mile from home on the way back for a late lunch/early dinner, OH has gone out to meet some friends for a drink and I've said if there's no progress this evening then he may as well go meet some other friends for new years celebrations. However, I can no longer feel the "tube" (for want of a better word) part of the cervix so I think that makes me 100% effaced. Thank goodness as I was getting concerned about doing exercise for no reason. Going to spend the evening with my bottom glued to the gym ball and trying to remember to bounce/rotate hips.

re: hospital bag - I've got newborn size in there, no snow suit but have packed a cardigan and blanket instead.

This is probably a better question for those of you who already have 1 child but what size of clothing are people buying for when the baby is immediately born?

Ive bought a few 'newborn' sleepsuits and also some 0-3 month ones.

Ive just been googling it and some people said that the 0-3 took a while for their kids to fit into so now Im thinking perhaps I should have bought more newborn as I expect we'll get 0-3 stuff as presents.

Then I saw on mamas and papas you can get petite newborn which is up to 7lbs which from my paranoia from yesterday got me thinking maybe I should be buying that!

On the other hand Im thinking screw it, Ill just keep to what Ive got now, and can always go on the internet and order stuff the day the baby is born if needed, it would arrive in a few days and clearly youd be in to accept deliveries :)

There is a really cute starter set in the M&P sale which I kind of regret not buying yesterday now and wondering if to order online just wondering what size to get.

But then my friend was told her baby would be small and it was 7lb I think 10? So buying petite stuff would have been a waste of time. So I guess Ill stick to normal newborn for now.

Claire, my daughter was 7lb5 born and 0-3 absolutely swamped her. She dropped down to 6lb7 (most babies lost a bit of weight in the first days) and stayed in newborn size for the first month. This time around I'm taking 3 vests and 3 sleepsuits in each size in my hospital bag, but I'll be amazed if the 0-3 get used in hospital!

Thats interesting to know as if my baby comes out at what the midwife thinks at 6lb something, I might need to make sure Ive got enough newborn as well as 0-3 for later as I think most stuff I bought was 0-3.

I would just have the minimum of newborn/0-3 to start off with and then you can buy more as needed depending on how big your baby is.

That's probably sensible as I imagine that snowsuits are the same as big winter coats for going in carseats which would make it a bit pointless having a snowsuit if you go by car.
