We've never been big new years people, in fact I hate the thought of going out for it, it's never been fun when we have done something, too crowded and there's that weird clock watching that makes the evening drag

So we're going for our favourite plan- posh nibbles from m and s and good tv, maybe a star wars marathon :) usually we have champagne but my cousin's wife introduced me to rose schloer which is lush so I'll get a bottle of that to myself :)

My NYE will be a trip to London in the day for an exhibition with hubby (we live in the suburbs) and we have a nice dinner at home planned in the evening (Chinese duck on offer in sainsbugs!). Don't imagine I'll still be awake at midnight, really shouldn't anyway, as we have my mums New Year's Day cheese and wine do the next day and sister in laws bday dinner in the evening!
Just been reading up on all the notes from nct and written a birth plan with hubby. Just bullet points and still a few things to discuss with midwife tomorrow. I get freaked out every time I have to do something like this, makes it all a bit more real and imminent. As if the wriggler under my rib cage didn't do that already!
Good luck samtoby for your scan. I had a previous missed mc and hated scans too but hope the sonographer puts you at ease quickly. Kynthia hope your nct goes really well. I'm planning to meet up with the girls from my group tomorrow for lunch. We're all January due dates.
    Best wishes to all x

Oooh con1888 I like them both but if you're going with jungle themes I think the first would match better :D

Just writing an essay due in on the 6th Jan, I'm training to be a numeracy teacher for adults (as well as working full time yes I am crazy haha) but once it's done I'm going to copy TeamLowe and buy some M&S nibbles for new year too (it's only right, my surname is Lowe too!) I'm working 7-7 NYE so I'll just have to chill out after.

I'm popping over to THAT thread to see what's going on, but I'm giving up writing anything on there anymore and will stick with this thread, I get sucked in too easily AND I'm getting so much inspiration and ideas from you lot! xxx
  • We have a quiet new year, I hate the busyness of everywhere and much prefer to chill out, the 31st is my birthday, and it's a rubbish day for a birthday

I'm thinking the first too, can't tell if it's more green or yellow but won't really matter to be honest. Need to get OH to go measuring this week for both carpet and wallpaper. I'm eager to get the room ready now, have put it off for a while but realised yesterday... I only have 12 weeks left !!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Oh, meant to ask, has anyone got the Mamas and Papas Zoom pram package? It is a brilliant price, I think I'll go and have a look at it this afternoon

    morning ladies

another rubbish nights sleep for me, all was going well till DH decided that he wanted to join me in bed p155ed. Before I went to bed he said he will be sleeping on the sofa so I got myself all comfortable in the middle of the bed....men!

I am now sleeping in 30-45 minutes naps through the night as this is the amount of time I can sleep on one side without being in too much pain. With a good 30 minutes before I nod off again...its a long night! awoke suddenly at 0555 this morning to be sick....no idea what that was about, lucky I made it to the bathroom in time. not been sick in about 10 weeks -- maybe its all the tossing and turning? plus baby was kicking like mad, having his own mini party.

welcome to all the newbies, its always nice to have 'new faces' on here.

alipops - I remember stomach cramps in the early days, I think I suffered with them till around 15 weeks and still get sharp shooting pains, but no longer get period type pain.

squ1rrel - what a fab dream.....a night out on the cocktails is just what I need right now!! Last night I did treat myself to a nice bottle of red.......shloer, pretending it was wine, like you do when you are a kid! I have a white bottle for this evening!!!

rummer - glad you manage to sleep well last night, thankyou for the links, I will be looking today as I have been interested in what you and kerri have mentioned already and as I have never heard of this way before, I am interested to see if I can add any elements. Also going to the local mother and baby groups is a great idea to get an idea of what is happening, I am going to pop that on my list of things to do as I as newish to this area and a first time mum, I need to get out with baby and meet people, as it will become expensive to keep going back to my old town where friends and family are to do baby groups (about 15 miles one way)

NYE - I have never done anything, its just another night for us. We do normally get a take away and watch a film then turn on one of the programmes showing the fire works in London or Edinburgh, then I go to bed!!

today is our Christmas day at the parents looking forward to going round, hopefully dad will be too busy with the cooking to show us the 'holiday photos' - he doesn't take just the 1 shot, he takes about 6-8 shots of the same beach, tree, flower etc and can get boring!

    have a lovely sunday ladies,

I've had a brief look, it's a great price! At first sight I thought it seemed quite wide but I've really nothing to compare it to, I need to look at others too really.

Random comment... my belly button is getting stretchmarks around it and it seems to have doubled in width... I'm being stretched!!

Con... if you go for the Dunelm jungle set, I'd go for the stars. It will match brilliantly I think. I'm tempted to get it myself, even though we've decorated already!!!

I spent Friday making gorgeous bunting for the nursery from a pillowcase in the range. It's sooooo pretty! Mum is getting the curtains on Tuesday, then they need shortening, but as soon as it's done I'll pop some photo's up so you can see the overall effect. :)
