Thanks for all the answers re Moses basket. A travel cot makes sense, I guess we will see nearer the time!

Yeah a travel cot could be a really good idea if it's something that only gets used for say 8 weeks.

Or one of these - I saw one reduced to a much cheaper price the other week)

    They also look cute :)

Travel cot would get more use though.
  • Morning All!

I managed to have a fantastic sleep - woke up full of beans, got ready to meet my parents etc. Then, about 5 mins before I was about to leave, I got what I reckon is a huge cramp - aching/stabbing pains around my ovaries/tummy and pubic bone. It really took my breath away! I couldn't stand as it hurt more, so I just laid flat on the sofa.

Text my parents, they know I'm pregnant (5 weeks tomorrow!) and said I couldn't come because I was in agony with cramp. My mum then went into - I hope it's not a period etc mode which annoyed me!

Anyway, after about 20-25 min, the cramps have calmed but it does hurt when I cough or sneeze.

Are these sharp cramps normal? I'm all worried now!

    Thanks,

  • Hi all

I am another on and off lurker, the other thread was upsetting me to the point where I was risking saying something which might get myself into trouble so I have been avoiding it a bit.

Robots so sorry that you had to come over here to share your experience, instead of the other thread. It sounds like you had a horrible time :( I don't really have much helpful advice to offer, but definitely make sure you tell the hospital you don't want to see that person again. It'll make you less worried which as you say isn't helping your situation. I hope next time you are able to see someone who gives you more of a chance to speak.

    I'm 19 weeks today - can't believe it!

Bigzippy you are very kind to offer to add us lurky ladies to the list! That would be lovely if you could add me! My EDD is 25 May 2014 but I don't know what team I'm on yet, will be finding out on the 13th Jan at my 20 week scan :):)

I couldn't help but write a final post over there. That really is it now.

I am 20 weeks today yay! Half way. And some of you ladies are all the way if not nearly there!

We have a really heavy frost at the moment it hasn't really melted and I nearly slipped on the steps when I went down to feed out chickens. Must be careful!

What are all you ladies doing for new year? x

I'm not a medical person but would say for me anyways they were normal, I had pretty bad cramps in the early days, worse than period pains. Felt mainly low in my abdomen, infact it was one of the signs that I was pregnant ( other than the obvious missed period)

Apologies for not posting the montessori links ladies I went off to watch TV with the OH. There's another one I've been looking at which is diy montessori, I mostly Google different things to mashed as I'm crafty and love making things.we're not going full blown montessori but taking elements we like and trying them out. If you're any good with a sewing machine then the topponcino is a half hour make.for the canvases we've made OH free styled images after looking on Google but I cheated and used tracing paper. I should finish her quilt later then I can photograph her nursery to show you all :)
Bud firsti need to get dressed as we're going to do a 2 mile walk into Bath for a coffee then back again :) I've even found some free parking just off the bath to Bristol cycle path teehee.

Jox - glad they're looking after you and hope baby stays a little longer

Hibernating ! Had a busy Christmas/Boxing day period then back to work so taking the two days to relax as much as possible ( off 1st & 2nd) may go to one of our parents for dinner on the day but that's it.

I've never been a huge fan of Hogmany anyways, no one I know really has a party so it's usually watching rubbish tv, when 18-21ish I used to go to a local nightclub.

My task now is to find nice wallpaper for nursery, have decided on 'theme' as such ( a kind of multi one using the Red Kite Cosy Jungle linen or the Dunelm mill Jungle time) will be having 3 of the walls plain ( likely an off white/cream) getting a dark carpet ( grey flecked) and bright curtains... I want 1 wall of bright similar coloured wallpaper but struggling to find any... see lots of nice borders but that's not what I am wanting.

Why do I have to be such a fusspot?!
  • Samtoby well done, I think you pretty much said what everyone else was thinking. I thought I made quite a sensible suggestion by advising the poster to take a few days break from the thread whilst she decided what to do and to give others some breathing space but it seems it went down like a lead balloon and she accused me of being unfair.....

New Year's Eve OH and I are staying in bed with films and snacks :d

We have frost here too, got to leave the house soon to get a new wing mirror mirror for the car, the frost was so cold last night it caused it to drop off and smash whilst I was sat in the car pressing the button to try and adjust it! Pretty hilarious but OH was not impressed!! Teehee!

35 weeks today! I can relax now, she wasn't six weeks early :)) i know it sounds odd but now we've missed the family habit of first baby being six weeks premature I'm happy that she'll be full term, although the thought that full term is only 2 weeks away freaks me out, she could be here then, her cousin came at exactly 37 weeks.

The thought of her being here is really strange in a way, I can't imagine her being separate from me although obviously I can't wait to meet her. I just know I'm going to be one of those mums who can't leave their baby lol

Oof, just coughed and my pelvis went clunk and now my lower back hurts :(
