Lush if you do ever get worried about less movement just give your hospital a call and they should see you, you might get monitoring/scan etc and I read this horrible story the other day of a lady who had reduced movement - a lot less than what you are describing I think in her case it was nothing for at least a day or two but anyway because she heard the heart beat on her Doppler she didn't go in, and unfortunately the worst happened and they said they could have tried to do something if she'd gone in, so sorry I know that's really depressing but please don't rely on the Doppler! I couldn't read your post & not mention that story as the lady said her thing now is to prevent it happening to others.
Your nephew sounds just like ours! It drives us mad the whole tv thing so we always buy educational or more physical type toys too.
Becca that is a long stretch! My 28 week apt is on Monday then I'm sure the next one is 31, then 34.0 -
Hope everyone's had a nice christmas. I still feel shattered and am glad I have another week off!
I would go for the educational toys Kerri. A friend told me her nephew aged 3 got a DS and a tablet this year!
We've managed to get a few bits in the sale, equipment wise, con. We picked up a reasonable priced monitor and some bottles etc. but haven't seen much at the moment. Although we are going to pick up a Perfect Prep machine this weekend after yesterday's experience babysitting a 4 month old with an upset tummy. Felt like the longest four hours of my life!0 -
I got my first samsung galaxy tablet yesterday and I'm 39! Hubby got it for me cos I'm still in ruddy hospital, 7th day! They're letting me out for a few hrs, freedom will feel so good!0

Thinking of you Jox, hope everything is as ok as it can be, enjoy the few hours of freedom!0

Wanted - the sleep fairy, if anyone has seen her, please can you let her know I am looking for her!!
Another night with no sleep, this time, I couldn't get to sleep, still awake at 3am (normally I am waking around this time!) and I have tossed and turned all night....feel like crying. DH is currently fast asleep in bed as he came off a night shift this morning and I am so jealous.....I am a right grump when tired!
On a more positive note, my parents landed back from Barbados this morning (Becca - so sorry as I know you are missing your parents too) I have missed my mum loads and its only been two weeks. We get to have our Christmas tomorrow which I am really looking forward too.
Mission for this week is to start collecting things for my hospital bag....off to Matalan in abit as I have some vouchers to see if I can pick up any cheap nighties in the sale as I do not wear them at home. Also its a good excuse to look at the baby things too...though I do not need any more clothes! this baby has more clothes than me & DH.

Ask her to visit me after pleaseI dozed off about 1am to be woken at 3am by hideously painful heart burn which was not for going. Now I am up and trying to convince myself to do some house work

From past experience all the baby events are in January. I'd wait for then if it's baby paraphernalia you're after
all the supermarkets partake, in particular.
Bambi, do you know if you're expecting a girl or a boy? I'll add you as 'team yellow' for now, on the previously posted list and then change it later if needs belooks like neither of us were paying attention and that you have popped your head up previously, cos you're already on the list!
Claire...I don't want to alarm you, but it gets worse!it mostly gets better in the meantime though

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: ha ha that's brilliant, I must have done it so long ago, mind you my memory is like a sieve nowadays and she's not even here yet. I've been sat here for the last 20 minutes looking at the devastation known as my front room. When's this nesting supposed to kick in?

Becca hope you have managed to Skype or talk with your folks over the hols. I know you were dreading them going but each day is a day closer to them getting home! Hope you have lots of nice things going on to distract you this weekend!
Jox happy birthday! Hope you aren't too stir crazy in hospital. x
MrsBunny sorry to hear you're not getting much sleep at the moment - I was out like a light but woke up around 2 convinced it was morning! Grrrrr... Put it this way, I don't think I'll be making it to midnight on NYE lol.
The Melissa and Doug things are lovely Kerri, DD has a couple of bits from there - purchased in charity shops though as too expensive for us if not presents! I was chuffed to bits with what she got for Christmas - lots and lots of books, Play Dough, a wooden dolls house and a play tent. Of course there was some plastic tat in there too (the Peppa Pig chair has already broken :rotfl:) She is completely knackered from all the excitement today and currently shouting from her bedroom that she doesn't like mummy or daddy and only likes playing at baking cakes and the Gruffalo film! She doesn't even have the energy to get out of bed and shout it down the stairs like she normally would so hoping she nods off shortly as I could do with a nap too!
Lush roll on February for the 4D scan! It's nice to have little milestones like that to check off along the way isn't it?
Claire hopefully someone will return a coat to ASOS and you can have the one you wanted in the right size!0 -
Thats what Im hoping for mincepie
Hopefully the people who ordered size 10 will need a size 12 and then I can get my 10!!
I'm going to my friends to try her coat on in a bit so hopefully that will fit though just incase.
Your little girl sounds hilarious!
Jox are you having to stay in until you have the baby or until they think its just ok for you to go home? Sorry I cant remember with baby brain.0 -
Hope everyone who's sleeping badly gets a better nights sleep soon. I seem to be tired when I wake up and I'm finding that I wake all tangled up in the duvet and my dreamgenii pillow, so I know I'm sleeping restlessly, but at least I'm not lying awake til stupid o clock!
Jox, hope you manage to get home for a while and enjoy your time there.
I'm off to the pram shop to order the vista this afternoon, hubby is working and Mum's visiting grandparents, so I'm taking mother in law, who I know will try to persuade me to have a silvercross instead, but I'll just tell her straight and blame hubby! lol.
The pram place have 20% off today, but they also offer a price promise. I would like to buy the car seat from their too, but is it cheeky to ask for price match when I am already getting about £120 off the pram? Going on RRP (£135) if they take 20% off it will be £108, but amazon have it for £94... not a huge saving, but every little helps as they say.... I don't know what to do!First date 10.2.2002
