I'm always getting stuck on the floor! I teach 5 and 6 year olds so it's habit just to sit down with them. They're very sweet though, and pop off to get me a chair so I can help myself up! Lol.

Is it wrong that I just got RIDICULOUSLY over-excited that our nearest uppababy stockist has 20% off on the 28th, meaning we can get the pushchair and the car seat for less than just the pushchair itself? I just phoned hubby all excited and he just shouted "I'm driving" and hung up. Urgh! Does he not understand the excitement of a £126 discount!?!?!?!

Emz, where is the Uppababy discount? I want to get a Vista in the next view weeks. :) I'm also looking to blitz most of the baby stuff we need on 30th/31st so if anyone spots shops doing good discount on baby stuff then let me know.

Is anyone else rethinking their life insurance, mortgage protection, income protection and critical illness cover now they're going to be parents? As we're buying a house too I've been discussing the options with the broker but he's coming up with expensive options.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

Fab for us as we wanted to get it there as it's about 30 mins drive away. I only went on their site to double check their opening hours and there it was!!! Might get the car seat too, but it depends on the price online as they seem to be discounted more often, on amazon etc.
They will store as well until we need it, which will keep grandparents happy, and we only have to pay 50% to secure the price.
We found it with the carseat quite cheaply on kiddisave.com if you can't find it anywhere else. :)

  • Morning ladies, how are we all?

Has anyone else been suffering with insomnia since being pregnant? I don't think I've slept a night through since I found out. First I was getting up every night to pee, then during the hyperemesis sleeping for literally one hour at a time, and now I often wake up at 3 or 4 am and can't get back to sleep for at least an hour. Tonight I've been to the loo twice and eaten some cookies. Luckily dh is fast sleep so I don't have to feel guilty about waking him.

We went out yesterday to post a parcel, popped into halfords and then stopped round my mums for half an hour. By the time we got back I was exhausted, went to bed for a nap and slept for 3 hrs! That's probably part of the reason I'm awake now, although I wake most nights so it's not always the reason.

Today we are going to tesco which is literally round the corner from us. Dh hasn't tried to do food shopping at Xmas before so it's going to be an adventure! I am expecting chaos in the car park and empty shelves, but it might be alright. I mean, it's not Xmas till weds is it?

Yes lulu I've had weird sleeping patterns ever since I got pregnant. Current one is being wide awake at 5/6am and then being exhausted later if I couldn't go back to sleep. Sometimes I've had to get up have breakfast, put something on tv then I start dropping off so get back in bed. I can only do that on mornings where I'm not at work early though.

Kynthia we only got life insurance about a year ago so I'd kind of planned it for if we had a baby. I used an online broker recommended on this website, I asked my friend how much she pays per month I think she bought direct from the insurance company and it is way more than what we do!
  • Hi girls hope you are all well. I gave birth on the 29th of November to ds2 ... my notes have my length of labour as 49 mins lol... we left for hosp at 5.10 I was checked at 5.45 and was told I was 3/4cm ... 2 contractions later I had the urge to push ... 6.05 I started pushing (as soon as I climbed on the bed after being taken to a diff ward) they even put me in the pool room hoping to let me have the water birth I wanted. ... 6.24 baby was born ... I had gas and air while pushing but nothing before then ... went into shock for a few hrs after because it all happened so quick my body needed time to catch up ... he weighted 6lb 9oz was 13 days early but completely healthy xxx

Lulu, yes. I think I can count on not many fingers how many times I've slept through, during this pregnancy. I used to get similar at particular points in my cycle but I think sleeping lighter (preparing for listening out for baby?) exacerbates the situation. never slept so lightly...

Amy, completely forgot to say how excited I am for you! Hope you manage to make it Goole in time for some semblance of Christmas and that everything goes really well and you recover really quickly and easily! :D

I have an uppababy vista. It is fabulous! I can't recommend it enough! It's so light to push, the shopping basket is massive and the handle can be extended which is brill for my 6ft 4 dh! Honestly the best purchase I made!
