:j:j:j Congratulations!!! :j:j:j
So pleased for you Optimistic Mummy! 49 minutes of labour  Baby's a lovely weight, hope you've got over the shock nowPlease let us know a name or share a pic if you feel able to, enjoy Christmas with your lovely LOs
Thanks Zippy and I hope your LO doesn't wait too much longer to make a (calm and drama-free) appearance too
Lulu, I'm another who's been struggling with sleeping patterns - I tend to be up a few times in the night (toilet) then properly awake around 5ish but ready to nap by midday :rotfl: Oh well, I suppose it's all good preparation for when baby arrives!
Just in case anyone hadn't realised, I'm VERY EXCITED for tomorrow :rotfl: Feel a bit sad for MIL though as she and FIL headed back to the midlands today and I think she's a bit upset about missing the arrival... she kept reminding me to call her before they left if my waters went spontaneously or I headed to the hospital earlyIt's sad that she's been here and doing so much to help around the house but won't get to see baby as soon as she arrives. Having said that, I'm sure they'll be heading straight back up the motorway within a couple of days of baby coming home.

Congrats optimistic mummy! Glad all is well after your super fast labour!!
Good luck for tomorrow Amy, how exciting!
We did our Christmas food shopping earlier. Fancied being a bit posh this year and go to M&S (thought we'd have a few extra treats because i can't drink and it's the last 'adults only' Christmas well have) however as soon as we walked through the door, we abandoned the idea and turned back out to go! It was like hell on earth! Every aisle was like a rugby scrum!!! We went to sainsburys next door which was much less busy!!
All done now so can relax!!0 -
Just quickly popping in to let you ladies know about a super bargain on nappies on Amazon
The size 3's and 4's of the Naty by Nature Babycare nappies are £6.49 with free deliveryfor 124 nappies (size 3) or 108 nappies (size 4). They have excellent reviews and they'll soon grow into them! I just ordered 700 nappies for £38 - works out at about 5.5p per nappy which is bonkers!
Size 3
Size 4
Also if you sign up to Amazon family 3 month free trial before xmas eve you get free Amazon Prime for 3 months AND they send you a voucher for free Lamaze footfinders and wrist rattles! Remember to cancel before the 3 months is up or they charge £49 per year  *Shameless plug* If you sign up using my link I get a referral credit:j30/7/10:j

Bigzippy can you change my '?' to a girl symbol please?
Congrats to everybody whogiven birth since I last posted, I have been a bit of a lurker recently as been a bit down about various thingsI'm now at 33 weks and looks like baby will be early, I'm on 2 week scans at the minute due to baby being quite small, the sonographer said that I'm unusual as both my babies have measured small even though I have GD. I like to be unique! Next scan on Xmas eve at 3.30 which has completely screwed up my plans for baking etc with my son

Congratulations optimistic mummy! 49 min labour is pretty impressive!
Good luck to you Amy - looking forward to your birth announcement... although that will make me no.5 on the list :eek:
Lulu - I have not slept through the night for the last 8 months. If I am actually sleeping well, I still have to get up and pee at least once, my record is 5 times.
Now I am so uncomfortable - either my back or my hips are sore - so I rarely sleep more than 2 hours at a stretch and then am awake for ages before I can drop off again. People keep telling me it's good preparation for when baby arrives. They wouldn't be saying that if it was them!!
The only thing that has really helped me was buying a theraline V-Pillow - helps with position and supporting bump, and I will use it for breastfeeding afterwards.
Kynthia - We have bought an uppababy vista in Ella Jade - I love it! I knew it was good because my sister has the same one and has seriously abused it for 2 years, and it is still going strong.
We got a good deal from the place below - local-ish for us but they also do mail order. We got the vista plus the Besafe carseat. If you like their facebook page you get a code for an extra 5% off too. Think we paid about £630 for the vista and the seat.

As for me - I am now 36+1 and on my second day of maternity leave. I am hoping bubs gives me a couple of weeks before making an appearance. Still have loads to do, got no cot or other nursery furniture, no blind or curtains, not even a curtain rail at the moment!!
I have semi-packed my hospital bag, written my birth plan, and tested my tens machine just in case...0 -
Keep the pram talk coming
I'm going after new year with my mum to pick mine, going to the Pram centre, Glasgow. Have no idea what I want but I am a total fusspot so it needs to look good too. I like the silver cross linear prams but i've noted a few reviews that they are really big.... we have a Meriva but ideally would want the body of the pram to fit in the back seats as the dog will be in the boot at times....
Quite like the vista with carrycot.. I prefer traditional carrycot type prams.0 -
con1888 - do ask to try it in your car folded... we liked a bugaboo but it wouldn't fit in the boot. The uppababy only fits with one rear wheel popped off, but it is so easy to do we decided that it was worth the faff to have the one we really wanted. OH was dead against anything 'flimsy' so he ruled out loads on those grounds.
The vista is good because it has a really big shopping basket underneath, and I will need that because OH will be taking our only car to work with him!0 -
The other one I like is silver cross linear freeway, reviews all say it's pretty big though so would need to try it out.
I will have the car mainly but I do like to shop so want a decent sized basket. The one thing I definately want is a carrycot though, as much as the buggy style ones can be more practical I just personally think the pram look ones are nicer.
Edit: duh I already mentioned the silver cross one in my above post lol... talking to someone online about it just now though and my head is muddled haha!0 -

Amyfoo - Very best of Luck for tomorrow. Can't believe you wait is almost over and you get to see you long waited for baby.:jdurham_girl wrote: »Bigzippy can you change my '?' to a girl symbol please?

I also have GD and my baby is measuring small. My next scan is also Xmas Eve (I'll be 35weeks) if the weather doesn't stop us from getting there. Do you mind if I ask why they will deliver you early? I was told as long as the heart beat is strong and plenty of flow through the cord and the GD is under control they would leave him be. How early did you deliver last time?0
