Oh comp, it didn't sound preachy. The midwives do say don't swap but I had to do a little bit of combination, just to get some sleep!DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
Does anyone else have PGP that's not affected the pubic bone but the back of the pelvis and buttocks? What exercises have you been given to do?
Me! I had my physio appointment on Wednesday. She gave me this band to support my pelvis whilst walking which seems to be helping. She told me to get an exercise ball and sit on that on an evening as having to balance myself will strengthen my lower back. As for the buttock pain, she said to locate the sorest spot on my bum then pop a tennis ball there and sit on it for a couple of minutes which should relieve the pressure. She also told me to do some pelvic tilt exercises. She did say that if I was a good swimmer (i.e. can do a decent front crawl) that it'd be a good thing to do but I'm not a very good swimmer and pretty much do a mix of treading water and breaststroke so not the best for my back!

Take it easy today0 -
Fran-o the only reason I would want to do the NHS classes is because of the hospital tour. How did you book a visit? If we can go by ourselves I won't bother with the NHS classes I think.
Happy Birthday Con - make sure you rest today (and get spoilt)
sjlou - hope you feel better too
It's my last day at work before I have next week off. I'm too excited to work - it's nearly Xmas!0 -
Happy birthday Con!
Really struggling for stuff for me and the new girl at work to do todaymaking it very hard to actually get anything done as if I delete certain jobs to her I then can't do anything for the rest of the day
Judging by my appetite and energy levels baby is having another growth spurt...at least I'm only after water/squash and fresh salad/pasta!************************************

Birdie, thank you that's really helpful. I'm already wearing my band, which isn't comfortable and can dig in my bump, but really does help and I wouldn't want to walk around without it. Thankfully I don't need to sleep with it on. People do need to be taught how to wear it as too high would make your problems worse. My physio told me to wear mine under my knickers as that's how low it should be. I will definitely try the ball and pelvic exercises.
Happy birthday Con, I hope you feel better. Eat something starchy for lunch and avoid citrus fruits today to avoid more diarrhea.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Hi everyone
I've been awol for weeks and so have missed so much!
Am now on antibiotics and so am now hoping to be 100% by next week, just in time for Xmas.Re: nipple confusion. My understanding is that they don't get confused as such but there is a risk that they prefer the bottle as it's easier to draw the milk out. This can lead to a baby suddenly not latching onto the breast when they were fine before.
DS' first few feeds were bottle as I was in surgery and as a result his latch was terrible - think me with teeth marks on my hand where I'd try to distract myself from the pain! We ended up with a strict no bottles for 8 weeks to get our feeding established and then of course the little blighter refused a bottle full stop
I guess it is sort of 'nipple confusion' as baby goes well this one just squirts when I suck and this one I have to concentrate on!
I'm planning to bf baby when she arrives but all going well will introduce one bottle feed a day much earlier just so I have the option.
Have a good birthday conCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Happy birthday con
Kerri, I feel the sameand my lower back keeps having phases of unpleasant nerve pain. Had Braxton Hicks at the same time last night, which didn't amuse me greatly
This might sound like a daft question, but do babies who are breastfeeding not need bibs? I'm guessing cos they have to work for it more, less gets dribbled down their chin than with bottles?
