  • Re: nipple confusion. My understanding is that they don't get confused as such but there is a risk that they prefer the bottle as it's easier to draw the milk out. This can lead to a baby suddenly not latching onto the breast when they were fine before.

Mind you, DD won't take a bottle at all. Ho hum

Delurking to add my experience. My lo has one bottle last thing at night (helps him to sleep) and have had no problems swapping between breast and bottle- he is breast fed the rest of the time xx

Sorry just realised my post may have seemed preachy - a lot of people have said that nipple confusion is a myth I was just repeating what the health visitor said.

    Congratulations Miss coupon! X

Sorry can't remember who was asking about muslins but we've got 12. Little miss was v sick in the first 2 weeks of her life and I found that was plenty as she tended to be sick during/ after a feed so it was enough for a couple of days worth. Muslins also dry very quickly so I know I can wash them and they will be ready to use fairly soon! They have been a well used item in the past 3 weeks!!

Can't believe how quickly these babies are arriving, seems 5 minutes since I was counting down the days until my due date now she's 3 weeks old :)

    Take care all xxx

  • TL - I haven't been able to drink any fizzy drinks throughout my pregnancy, it makes me windy and nauseous. Orange squash gets very boring after a while.

Hope everyone is doing ok. I've been busy at work but had a great day yesterday, a woman at work gave me 2 huge bags of baby clothes that her daughter didn't need anymore. They are mostly neutral and all immaculate. There were 14 long sleeve body suits and 14 short sleeved body suits in new baby alone. I think we're set for up to 3 months now! She didn't want anything for them but I've gotten her a mothercare voucher to say thanks.

I had the letter through about the NHS antenatal classes this week but am undecided about whether to go. We've paid for NCT and I don't know if I need to do both. Will have to decide over Xmas.

    Good luck Amy on Monday!

    Good luck Amy, how exciting!
Total baby brain this morning... Meant to put a splash of cold milk on my hot porridge and pour a little beaker of chocolate milk for afterwards, but poured chocolate milk all over my porridge!! Oops.
Thanks for the bf info TeamLowe, sounds like you had a little more practical advice in your class than we did.
Ps Lulu, we just did NCT, not nhs as well. But we have a tour of the labour ward/ birthing centre at our hospital booked too.

Thanks Birdie I never noticed those freckles before now I have I quite like them.

Thanks kscarlet I'll stick to 10 then and send OH for more if I need them.

We only did nct classes, they were really good and it's nice as I now know some people in the area going through the same as us. Whereas I didn't know anyone before. It also made me think about post birth as well as telling me lots I don't think the nhs cover

My mum said I was like that. So no feeds for my Dad :rotfl: my friends baby is happy to have either though so maybe it's a personality thing!

TL that was an interesting post I'm looking forward to our classes.

Hi Ladies. Congratulations misscoupon. Good luck Amy. Thank you for the breast feeding info Teamlowe.

I so tired trying to get ready for Christmas while working long hours and panicking about my job application. I've not got home before !8pm this week and I've been up till 2am either writing my form or wrapping presents. To top it all off my PGP has gone up a level and the pain is so much worse and my physiotherapist can't see me till 31st. I limp when I walk and the commute is painful. I could honestly cry on the tube right now. I'm just hoping things improve next week as I'm hoping to submit my form today and at least I'm only working 2 days.

I also need to progress the house purchase and actually buy some baby stuff. I'm 30 weeks on Monday and have one baby grow! Thankfully a friend is giving us a crib and Moses basket tomorrow. I'm worried this pregnancy is passing me by.

Does anyone else have PGP that's not affected the pubic bone but the back of the pelvis and buttocks? What exercises have you been given to do?

lulu We're in the same boat. booked nct and now been told we can go on the nhs ones (previously been told we didn't "qualify"!!)

Feeling ropey today, caught man flu from work. meh
Made it in to the office today though, and don't plan on doing much. Got lots of healthy snacks to keep me going!
