  • I know we aren't reccomeded to have bumpers anymore but if its at the foot end of the bed I don't understand how they can get overheated from them(as I was told by HV). Isn't it to stop them getting their arms or legs stuck through the bars?

I'm not really sure , I thought it was to do with suffocation. The cot death trust advise against them totally until a certain age.

I think some people mistakenly put them at the top. I read you shouldn't use them until 6 months if you are going to - which seems easy enough if the baby is in with you in a Moses basket/crib until then anyway?

I think I'll get the ones from john Lewis or nothing. I guess it would depend if the baby was a wriggler probe to banging their arms about.

    hi

i am feeling much better this evening after my fall yesterday. felt abit bruised this morning but seem ok now. baby still been kicking away all day so I have no concerns regarding the little man.

teamlowe - thankyou for the advise on bf, useful information.

amy - good luck for Monday, Christmas baby to cuddle.

looking forward to some quality time with DH this weekend as he is working most of Christmas and I am off work. we have a movie night planned for tomorrow, looking forward to watching a film snuggled together on the sofa under the blanket, sat and sun we will be finishing off Christmas food shop and two presents I have yet to get and then apart from work on Monday and MW appointment on Tuesday I am not leaving the house till the following weekend!!!! (well I will as I will drive myself crazy otherwise, there is only so much 'rest' one person can have!)

Amy how exciting! If it was me I would have run straight out to buy a whole heap of first Christmas things :)

AFM I must have the loveliest but most forgetful midwife, got asked three times in the fifteen minute appointment what classes I'd been to. Don't mind though as it meant once again she forgot to weigh me lol baby now measuring one week ahead instead of two but she said she's happy with that as long as it continues to follow an upward trend.

Been given two bottles of wine today- one from the Mayor for Christmas so not sure if he realises I'm the pregnant one but the other was from my boss, strange man lol

Come to the disappointing realisation that fizzy drinks make me nauseous- vomited last night for the first time all pregnancy after I quickly finished a drink and feel bad now after slowly drinking a can. What am I going to do about my Pepsi max addiction? Lol think baby must be heard them say last night about caffeine getting into your milk and decided I need to be weaned off the stuff now lol

Thanks for that great post TL, really interesting! :)

Very exciting about your Christmas baby Amy!

Lovely bump Kerri, like your line of freckles on the side too! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
