Just de-lurking to say, we bought a whole set of one brand of bottles before the birth and we just didn't get on with them. So I'd buy a few singles, and see which baby takes to and then buy more. We went through Tommee Tippee, Avent and Dr Brown before settling on MAM  very expensive!
Mam are good if baby is used to nipple as the teat is flat, like the nipple when it's in babies mouth. Plus you can self sterilise them, so no need for a steriliser

I agree. Just buy a couple of the small bottles to start with. Later on you'll need about 6-8 big ones (depending on how often you want to do a big wash!).
I guess it's different if you're planning to formula feed immediately - you might want to get a few more in that case - but if you're breastfeeding / expressing, you don't need many at the start.
MrsB - so sorry to hear you had a slip. Glad you and baby are ok.Mortgage when started: £330,995

Thanks, I plan to try breastfeeding but unfortunately most people I know haven't done well with it so want backup there too and also if it does work I will be expressing for OH to feed baby.0 -
Just thinking about times when I've fallen over as an adult... I've now taken to just sitting there and laughing my head off at the fact I've fallen. It somehow takes away the pain if I've fallen and hurt myself, I presume the oxytocin kicks in. Plus, if you're laughing then it doesn't matter if anyone else is too particularly if it's a really stupid fall. I also over exagerate the laughter and how long I sit there for.
Thanks RummerIt just needs to go on the wall now. I might take a photo of the nursery tomorrow for you all to see. I'm completely in love with it.

Welcome Faith
Ooh Rummer, can't wait to see your pictures. I've just ordered some nice artist pens to go with my black ones, this time I've ordered some coloured ones so I can make the other two pictures. I want one with b+w images plus one colour, and another made of primary colour images. Still need to finish the quilt too eep not much time left.
On another note, how many muslins do people have? I've got 10 20p Ik3a tea towels...should I go and buy some more?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Yeah my mum said I wouldn't touch a bottle as a baby. I refused them, boob or nothing :rotfl: so prob a good idea to try different ones.
I was planning on using a microwave steriliser as seems easy? Or I read you can use the dishwasher at a high temp? But self sterilising sound good!0 -
Kerri I ordered some muslins off ebay, theyre coloured printed ones, were a bit expensive but I was planning on buying some cheap white ones from somewhere.0

The pack of Ikea wash cloths are fabulous, we used them with our DD and they were inexpensive, cleaned well and lasted. We have bought them for this wee one too.
When do you think we should put the car seat in the car?Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
