Our nursery may be fairly neutral, but if our boy does come out as a girl she'll be wearing jeans and little lumberjack shirts for the first few months of her life!

I guess if 2 people on here have been told the wrong sex they could swap all their clothing lol!
Emz if you want any hungry caterpillar stuff you can buy fabric, I just made 2 cushions myself. One fabric had the food on it & another the caterpillar! Then backed them with green print fabric.0 -
Still to buy
Bottles/steriliser
baby bath/bathing accessories
changing mat
changing bag
cot and moses basket mattresses
car seat
baby monitor
What we have already or arranged
pram/travel system - parents buying
cot/moses basket
some baby toys, bumbo chair
some neutral outfits
muslin squares, bibs etc
I would add a playmat. You won't need it immediately, but before a bumbo. It's great to have somewhere to put baby down. Maybe a vibrat-y chair too.
Also a bath thermometer, unless you're confident with temperatures. And a bottle brush - sounds like a silly thing to mention, but the pointy tips are essential for getting bottle teats clean.
In terms of brands, I went for Avent. It was fine. Some bits were better than others, but I think that's the way with all the different options.Mortgage when started: £330,995

evening all....
sat here still in shock....stopped off at the co-op on way home from work and I slipped on the pavement outside the shop. It was really slippy due to the rain.
anyway as I sat in the puddle trying to get myself up, one leg twisted behind me and another out in front, two people walked by and didn't even offer to help me up, in fact, I don't think they even saw me on the floor.
I needed bread and milk so had to go into the shop, all shaken up, tears rolling down my cheek and soaked from the rain, must of looked a right state.
Got home as fast as I could and burst into proper tears once I had shut the door, sorted myself out and phoned DH as he is on nights tonight. I am abit achey now and baby is fine as he is kicking me silly right now.
It hasn't half scared the life out of me. :-(Proud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!0 -

Thanks, forgot to say we have a vibrating chair/swing thing too, brother is getting us it so it isn't here yet and I forgot.
Play mat is a good ideaWe only have bumbo atm as my nephew outgrew it and my brother brought down all his old stuff so got lots of toddlery type things like the walker and a 'bright starts' entertainer which looks great but not for until baby can support own head.
Both my neices had the DR Brown bottles but they were colicy, not sure wether to get them or not.. avent sets look good I think, how many bottles are actually needed ?
I'm so confused by it all.. we aren't going to get it all til after new year but plan on spending some time on our list over my christmas holidays and budgeting each month to buy things.0 -

Oh no mrs bunny but glad that baby is moving well, it's such a shock to fall over as an adult let alone pregnant. I fell over at 18 weeks and 8 weeks later I still have two pink marks on my hand where I grazed it!
Does everyone else wish they could sometimes see what the baby was doing? My tummy was just really like bouncing about id love to see what she's up to!0 -
im ok thankyou ladies, just shocked, you do feel stupid as an adult falling over. I have had a nice brew and now snuggled on the sofa with my blanket. x xProud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!0

glad your fall hasn't caused too many problems/pain mrsbunny.
con we got the tommee tippee closer to nature set from mother are; it was already on offer and we got the extra 20% off! Came out at about £55 but for that we got the electric steriliser, bottle warmer, two insulated bags, a dummy and half a dozen bottles (if not a couple more) and two teats for each! Looks like a great set and whilst we won't use it straight away its already sat on the kitchen side ready to practice using!************************************

Mrs Bunny you must have had an awful fright, glad to hear you are sitting relaxing safely at home now.
Kerri The picture looks fabulous
We have some Tommee Tippee bottles and steriliser that was bought as a gift for us however I am still determined to breast feed.
I have been really unwell and now have been told to rest until baby is here which is frustrating but I am too tired to argue! Hubby has been good though and did the supermarket shop, made the tea and took things to the dump to clear more space. He is also talking about things that need to be done and even asked how to look after the reusable nappiesTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0
