Claire - how many do you have though? I have 10 in total, but not sure if I need more than that or not. I've been given a couple of burp cloth things from various people so I have those in addition to the teatowels. I've thrown 4 teatowels in the baby's hospital bag lol, they've been through the washing machine several times so they're absorbent.

Rummer - ooh they look lovely, I might pick some up. We've got her 2 washcloths from Chr1sty to match her little towel set as they're super soft and what we use on ourselves, bought at the outlet village though We've got a car seat in the car already, it's one of our NCT groups spare as ours hasn't turned up. Must call about that tomorrow actually.


Was just thinking, we've not heard from Amyloofoo for awhile, dare we hope?

I'm wondering how Amy is too...?

Con, do you have sheets for your cot and moses basket? Blankets? A neutral snowsuit to bring baby home? A few nappies and cotton wool to start off with?

As for bottles, I will want a few for expressing but haven't bought any yet. I've heard about issues with not getting on with them etc and also babies getting lazy about breastfeeding if they get it too easily from certain bottles. I'm waiting til baby is here/the January baby events to think some more about it. I'm thinking of just using cold water steriliser solution to begin with as I'm hoping breastfeeding will work and bottle use/sterilising will be fairly rare at first.

I felt movement at 14+5 and DH felt it the first time a week later but then not again really for a couple of weeks. My BMI when I got pregnant was 30, for comparison, but my placenta is at the back.

Kerri, I've got 6 muslins atm but I'm waiting to see what I get given at Christmas/birth before stocking up on any more. I'm confident I'll use them a lot, as I do when I'm babysitting, but I know (for eg) my sister was talking about having stocked up on baby things for us, so at the moment I'm waiting it out. If I see great deals in baby sales events I might pick some more up, but I have enough towels and flannels if not. I think it depends what you want to use them for too. Parents seem to have either a million and one uses for them, or don't really touch them. I've known them be used as breastfeeding privacy covers/shawls, sleeping snuggle blankets, bibs/dribble cloths/burp & sick cloths, wash cloths, change mat covers... Others I've spoke to have no use for them.

Sorry ladies, I'm still here and still massive! :rotfl: Have been mostly lurking as I've been busy and catching up on my phone (which is a nightmare to post on)... Clinic appointment is tomorrow morning though so will have a firm eviction date then

Had a meet up with my NCT ladies today so met the first 2 babies - they are adorable!

Thanks, I feel quite proud somehow, to have made it to term - especially without having to go on bed rest (which was a distinct possibility).

Now to see how much longer I can hang on for... Aching swollen hands and Fibro pain suggest I may lose the plot before a potential 5 weeks pass though... :cool::o

Congratulations on being Full Term BigZ, it's awesome that you've not had to go off sick. I think if I had a more active job I'd not have coped as I was sooo tired whilst my meds were out of whack.


I'm resigned to thinking that even though I'm ready for this baby, she's only going to arrive when she wants to. But I'm doing the walking, EPO, aromatherapy and all that jazz. Maybe she's waiting for me to finish the quilt I've started for her, currently cutting out patches as I can't sleep until the early hours anymore. OH has been sleeping in the spare room for weeks so I've reverted to my nocturnal state.

It's a girl!!!:p

I had a very uncomfortable afternoon/evening yesterday which was frustrating. Now my manager is joining OH in the 'you have to stop going out for hour long 1mile + walks on your lunch' and I have to admit I think they may be right. I was fine walking from the office in to town but walking back was very uncomfortable :-(

Bump feels much neater, was talking with colleagues yesterday and we all agreed I'd done alright to carry all at the front as I've kept my waist/definition which is nice. She definitely has quite days and rave days which can be disconcerting sometimes as I won't feel anything for a while then all of a sudden its like she is reminding me she's there!

Been told we can wear jeans/go in to work in casual dress as we are going for drinks afterwards. Only problem is I don't really like my maternity jeans at the moment (bootleg not my usual straight leg, baggy, generally frustrating fit) and I don't have anything else that 'casual' so I might end up going in looking like its just another day :-\
