    Ooh Amy!

MPM - neither me or DH got the john Lewis advert either, we didn't catch onto the whole hibernation thing not sure if we weren't paying attention or what so anyway we decided to keep that quiet incase people thought we were a right pair! :). So glad were not the only ones no offence lol!

Good Luck Amy. Maybe you will have your little Sweetheart in time for Xmas;). Do you have any other symptoms yet?
  • Hi ladies,
I've not posted for ages but have been following the thread. I'm 29 +1 now and team pink if someone can update the list for me please ( due date 26th Feb).
Have had to go off sick with SPD this week, really struggling. HR may make me start my mat leave early but I've got to the point where I'm beyond worrying now.
I'm waiting for a physio appointment to come through see if that can give some more relief.
Baby is moving loads, think shes had hiccups this morning.
Have got a hypnobirthing taster session booked next week, am hoping it may help with any SPD pain in labour as well as a general calmness.

Oooh Amy, if I could find QQ's wagging finger I'd be wagging it at you! :p All sounding positive though. :)

I thought the John Lewis advert was quite sweet but not as effective as past years. OH totally ruined it by saying 'Ahhh, so sweet. You know the bear's probably going to die now because his hibernation was interrupted, right?' :p

Luckily my ankles haven't swollen (yet!) but for the ladies struggling, how about trainer socks that just cover your feet? Or soft, fluffy bedsocks that aren't as tight as normal socks? Or big size men's socks?

You're full of uselful tips MPM! Going to remember the lavender and milk bath idea. I'd never even heard of let-down pain but now I have, I'll remember to try some feeds in the bath. :)

Feeling a bit better this morning but when I'm just coming down with a cold I tend to feel OK first thing then get worse as the day goes so just waiting to see what happens. :o All ready for the Christmas cake competition and feeling nervous! :)

Smartcat, sorry for the SPD pain. :( I've got it to a degree (can't complain too much as I'm not at the stage of needing crutches, but it's bloody painful all the same!). One thing that has helped me a lot is one of these. I just put it on my comfy chair then sit on it and tuck it around my hips and the relief it gives is worth ten times the cost! :)

:naughty: for Amy :rotfl:but good luck! sounds very promising :)
think i'm going to be awful when i get to full term, possibly five weeks of driving myself crazy as i was terrible for it when ttc lol

Smartcar sorry to hear you've had bad pain, hope your hypnobirthing helps

MrsBunny i find i can only get my socks on if it's the first thing i do, trousers seem to restrict it even more. definitely can't do shoelaces, DH had to bregrudgingly do them on Monday and i said you'd better make sure it's a double knot, it'll look well if you have to retie them in the middle of the shops lol

The furniture arrived at 10:20 so mum wasn't waiting long at all, it sat staring at me last night but DH had a headache and went to bed early so there was no way he was doing any of it. if only I wasn't pregnant and could do it myself :rotfl:

I say went to bed early - he was saying that he hadn't had a good nights sleep for a couple of nights and would sleep on the couch, so he napped from 6.00pm in bed then after i'd gone to bed (at the very late time of 7:30) he moved down the couch. really missed him but there's just so little room between me, bump and the pillow nest i need and i'm tossing and turning all night so disturbing him.

I did make a fb announcement after the anamoly scan but just a line and not a scan picture. i was torn as i hated seeing announcements when we was trying but there was also a couple of times when someone had said nothing and then bam, picture of them heavily pregnant, which i hated even more. i figured it's easier to ignore just a status and it did hint that we hadn't had an easy ride of it

Ooh Amy ... hope things get cracking for you soon.

Haha, glad it wasn't just me claire!

looking forward to hearing about your bfing workshop, you'll have to share a piccie of your furniture once it's in situ

Kerri hadn't realised you were full term now  Hope you're doing ok and keeping busy.

I had a vivid dream last night... nothing baby-related though. I dreamt that I had to hand in my chemistry coursework and I hadn't done it. Then I woke up with a sense of foreboding so got out of bed to go downstairs and finish it. It was only when I caught sight of my huge bump in the mirror that I realised I wasn't in my bedroom at mum and dad's any more! So I'm now not only in denial about being 35 weeks, but also in denial that I'm a grown-up at all apparently!

I thought they could only make you start maternity leave earlier later on? Like the last 4 weeks or something?

    Thats what it says here

    https://www.gov.uk/maternity-pay-leave/leave

If you get any hassle Id just email them that link and say when youll be starting your mat leave :)
  • Thanks for that link claire-we had a discussion about when work could automatically start mat leave yesterday, and checking it was on my to do list :)
